Question about full mobility in multiplayer

As the title says, for those of you, who play multiplayer, is going full mobile for VL actually viable tactic in multiplayer? I mean completely mobile, when you get rid of your HW and all the planets and rely exclusively on your capships and titan, while reinforcing your fleets just using phasegates your titan spawns?

I suppose it depends on many variables, like number of players and their experience, then shape of map, etc... but would like to know more, or what others think on this topic.

EDIT: One more question, even if it turns out, it is really not, have you ever run into situation, where you just could not kill off the VL enemy, as he kept evading and alluding you, even though he was clearly not in position to possibly win...but decided to be pain in the ass and use the mobility on his disposal to that purpose. I know, in multiplayer, once its obvious you cant win, the usual scenario for most people is call it gg, but there are different kind of people...and VL seem to be exactly tailored for being dicks who refuse to give up :-P

It used to be viable before STTC was nerfed. It was so powerful that it meant the VL player could 1v2 and roll around like a swarm of locusts without much trouble in the hands of a good player. I don't think it's as viable now though. Most VL players prefer to hold on to their planets and only strip enemy ones or only if they really need the resources. I'm sure there are still some games where the VL player refuses to quit and can keep up a hit and run for quite a while though.

I've never seen anyone strip all of their planets, though I suspect they would if they were about to be taken by the enemy. Other than that, there is no incentive to strip everything. A few planets for Kosturas and shipyards is always useful.

And yes, some players do just jump around the map with a Vorastra and fleet even if they already lost just to draw out the game. But fortunately VL is played less often now so its not as big of a deal.
