We need a level 1 scouting spell.

Scout units are terrible and level 1 spells are underwhelming at the moment. But we want to keep them somewhat weak in combat to prevent sovereigns from being overpowering.  I propose a level 1 scouting spell for Air.  Something that lets you pick an area and then bling you can see what's there.  The air sphere could use some help as it is anyways.

As a secondary, related idea, water might get a higher up spell related to scouting out the water.  Perhaps, revealing all water tiles on the map, which would be useful just to get a general lay of the land.

I had to rethink my stance on scouts.  I think they are good.  I use them in small groups not single pairs.  Seem to live thru battles they have to fight vs the wandering types.  The high power lair guardians will always tear a new one.

I don't necessarily disagree with your spell idea. So k1 for ideas.

Really good idea for spells. Actually like how water spells would give you the idea of the lay of the land.

I added much to the game in the form of Divination. In my opinion, exploration is handled extremely well in Civ games. So why not have a few options to get some really powerful magic exploration? My Eyes of the Eagle spell reveals 12 tile radius of the map. It is random bag to get Book of Winds, but when you do, you can do some serious scouting and you have a nice intel option during wars. I encourage the AI to use this alot, if they don't have full knowledge from the difficulty.

I also have a Divination ability for Mages. Then there is an endgame spell to reveal the whole map as long as you pay the maintenance cost. This kind if addition would probably be nice once the player is past making scouts to gain constant intel or search out large maps.
