Comic Relief Replay

So this is a semi-ok game at best but there are some lol-worthy moments to make it worth sharing.

The All-In typical Vasari SB rush that falls flat and results in rage quit (it's a cheesy tactic because it pretty much decides that 1v1 matchup right there - if it works, you win, if it flops, gg, for the most part).

The KBroke comments like "at this point in the game, I know you can't feed, so just send good thoughts".

The Pink player's strategy of splitting his forces on different sides of the map because "it fucks them up psychologically". In practice it results in half his fleet, including his Progenitor, dying because he wasn't paying attention lol.

Late game I notice that the AI Vasari has somehow clung to a single asteroid and managed to produce a Titan on that alone while all this other shit is going down on his team...

One of those comedy of errors games with a few good fights thrown in...

Little know fact, if you researched all the titan research, you only need to keep 1 military lab alive in order to fully build/rebuild one.

Very interesting.  I had always assumed it was the opposite and as a result didn't even bother trying it or checking the reference files.

Funny how sometimes via confidence our perception can cripple our ability to correct false assumptions.

In anycase nice catch- without this being pointed out to me, who knows how long I would have remained in the dark.

Actually between skilled players this is very well known fact. This is one of reasons that I advocate that all research to be usable should be tied to active labs.....

For the record I did not rage quit.  My SB was still up and I was pumping sentinals into the fight while upgrading the SB.

My connection has been ridiculously inconsistent for several weeks now and it has led to many MD's and "disconnected from ICO" events.  The disconnects are frustrating, playing a skilled opponent (win or lose) is far from "rage" inducing, it is the reason I play this game.

I hope you and I can face off again soon Ekko, it was a tight fight we had going on, and even if I'd lost that SB at your astro I would have continued playing I had a solid back up you'd already retreated from.

Hi Mr Book - that's cool, I have never played you before so I was only guessing it was rage quit due to the timing of your first SB being destroyed. I know how often MDs can happen for some people though so I shouldn't have assumed it was a RQ. In any case, I stand by my analysis that you had lost the fight - the first SB was almost destroyed when you dropped - there weren't enough sentinels there to stop the bombers. I had enough bombers massed to then take out the next well's SB and just kept building disciples to deal with the flak. Building 2 SB like that at the start of the game is crippling to a Vasari economically so if you lose one you'll need feed to survive. It's why I called it an All-In strategy - you put all your cards in and bank on the rush working - if it had, I'd have been pushed back to my HW. It's an annoying and cheesy strategy but it's common enough amongst Vasari players who do little else that as long as you see it coming and get bombers ready, it's not too hard to defeat.

My guess is it dropped me a bit before you saw me drop in game.  However, you make fair points in your analysis.  I won't say you had me beat, but I do look forward to meeting you again and finding out :)

It's called Youtube or the Livestream starplayer is doing now.

Speaking of which, you, boshimi and Sinperium have not been on TS often lately.

j/k, I don't mind.

That was a good watch actually. The teams looked a bit stacked in your favour but Aquia made it close by basically carrying their whole team.

I figured or at-least hoped that was the case ;)

Ya, Aquia's a beast. And the teammate next to me played well despite being relatively new'ish.
