[Req] FullScreen Taskbar + Other Requests

FullScreen Taskbar, Use Key for minimized menu, desktop metro, better size settings, new key shortcuts, new right-click options, improved login screen

Hi,

First: I love this tool!

Second: I have a few suggestions to improve Start8.

  1. Add an option to show the taskbar in metro fullscreen mode (already requested this on the windows 8 blog...)
  2. Option to use the startbutton for fullscreen and the windows key for the minimized version
  3. Desktop Metro: When opening metro in fullscreen all desktop elements get invisible and all metro tiles are shown "on the desktop" while showing the taskbar --> Just launch Metro in fullscreen showing the taskbar and using the current desktop background as metro background
  4. Option to choose my own prefered size for the windowed metro menu by pixel or like a window resize
  5. Improved Keyboard support: Ability to launch certain elements in metro by using ALT + ....
  6. Improved Right-Click Options in Metro: E.g. add shortcut to desktop
  7. Improved Logon: Show the Users directly on the "lockscreen" (the screen showing the background that has to be swiped up first)

Third: I love this tool!

Keep it up! This is the reason why I upgrade to Windows 8! =)

Regards!

I think that there will be a huge demand for the Windows 7ication of Windows 8 when it becomes publically available in October.  What's needed is an app that not only boots directly to the desktop but also isolates the desktop from "Metro" (not real Windows as apps only run full screen) or whatever its to be called.  Bring back the Windows 7 start menu - not the way Start 8 does it - more the way vistart does it and enable gadgets again - I really can't do without them.  There are many improved features in Windows 8 (Desktop) and many will want a straightforward Desktop upgrade.    Having said that this version of Windows 8 RTM is running in a Virtualbox as I am not prepared to give up on Windows 7 quite yet - not until there is a decent paid for app to bring the features I mentioned to Windows 8!  Leave the "Metro" interface to the pads (tablets) and phones.
