Suggestion: Neutral unit variety

Hi. It would be cool if there were some variety within a said neutral unit take darkling for example: At best no two units of darklings would look the same on the battlefield. This would be achieved by adding some armor variations and possibly minor size variations and of course stats changes would follow according to those variations.

Another idea would be to add visual impact on some of the traits that units have, for example the trait "Strong" would make the unit have more muscle than normal and the trait "Weak" would do the opposite etc.

What do you think about this?

more differentiation would be great, although I don't like the idea of stats changing due to how they look.
One easier way to do it would give each random darkling and similar creature a chance for random useless items and/or looks altering Perks.

More visuals, always more visuals :D

Why? if you don't make any changes to stats when alerting look by adding armor varritations you are making things unrealistic. Take for example if darklings had existed in the middle ages in the real world and if one had more armor than the other and they were same in all other aspects then it is obvious that it is harder to kill the darkling that has more armor.

it depends, if you outfit them with different equipment you can give them different stats, thats not what I am going at, and that was the fix I was hoping for, chance for small darklings, ogres, and other bandit types would get random items either equipped or upgraded, nothing too big, shouldnt be from club to greatsword,  but club to warclub, or club to axe/dagger. Would love to see bandit's run around with almost all random low level weapons.

But if its slightly taller, I don't think its a good idea to change the stats just because of that, while it might be realistic that not every darkling have the same stats, its way way way simpler for players to play against.

Very good point.

Also make so that some darklings get a lot of low level equipments while others are unlucky and only get a club.
