Is it posible to import ships to Blender?

Clan webpage

Hi everyone!

I have started a clan in Sins of a Solar Empire, we are going to have a cool clan page. And i want it to look like it was in the game with the menus and everything. I want to make some cool Images and a intro Video to the clan and i wonder if it is possible to import the ship meshes to the 3D program Blender. And if it would be OK to do it if it is possible?

Thanks everyone!!

So the 777 clan is legit then?

I saw a few online with that tag, but it's hard to tell when people are just goofing off.

First of all, Sins has a special graphics design forum? I've been here years and never seen that.

Second, the only known way I've seen people import models into anything is to use a custom community made script for 3DS Max. After you do that you can convert them to a format useable by whatever program you want, but if you're using blender I'm going to guess you don't have the money for 3DS Max.

I use 3d object converter

That works for Sins models? o_O I know it works with a ton of other formats, but since I thought .mesh was unique for Sins.

I'm working on importing all ships and star bases to .obj. You can grab what I've done so far here. Further, if you are a student, you can get all Autodesk programs free for non-commercial purposes, as I have.

I haven't been able to use 3d object converter for Sins personally; it doesn't recognize .mesh files.

I am told only the paid versions of Max and 3D Converter can pull the mesh's out in a usable form?

MyFist0 has the extracted ships for Trinity up on his website.
