Could use some useful strategic advice

Playing against two unfair opponents as Vasari (one is TEC and seems to be focused on missle frigates and kodiaks, the other is advent whose fleet i destroyed 30 seconds ago.

no mods

just lost my support fleet and vulkoras and replaced them all with 20 carriers without thinking since i'd been spamming them for the last twenty munutes, so i've got two carrier caps and 51 carriers.

currently upgrading my fleet supply and i need some ideas about what to make with it.

I've got most of the ships researched at the moment.

Playing on triad, just captured the middle desert planet with heavy losses.

I've got the worst economy but best military currently

Any ideas/advice/words not from mecha-lenin or riddleking?

P.S.  How do you get screenshots from your computer onto the forums?  I've never had to before and have no idea where to start.

First, screenshots...you have to upload the image to some website (I used mediafire), then copy the direct link to that image...

When you make a post, click the picture icon (2 icons to the left of the emoticon icon), and paste in the direct link...click in one of the dimension boxes to "trigger" the dimensions being set, then you should be good...if you want, you can change the dimensions as well...

Now, for strategy...

I would say good vasari build going from mid-game to late game is:

  • 1-2 Skirantras with repair cloud
  • 1-2 Kortuls with Jam weapons and disruptive strikes
  • 1-2 Jarrasuls with mix of abilities (at least one level of colonize on one of them)
  • Bomber spam
  • Group of overseers for keeping caps/SBs alive
  • Kanraks+sentinels

If you feel really pro, you can try to incorporate the classic subverter + minelayer strategy as well...disable groups of units while laying mines in their midst can be brutally effective, but requires some good micro....

Judging by what you have said thus far, it seems like you have bombers and skirantras taken care off...I'd say get some overseers, and add in some kortuls...if you don't have at least one space egg, get one...adding in sentinels (to deal with fighters) is also important...adding in kanraks depends on the situation...if you can get away with bomber spam, I'd say just stick to that...

More details though would be nice...

Now, for strategy...are you VL or VR?  Do you have a titan yet?  Does anyone else have a titan?  Those things would be nice to know...

Buddy...look at the forum category.  :-"

Further notes:

DIPLOMACY!

Dont have phase gates

My only fleet at the moment is that carrier fleet but i'm currently protected by starbases on my flanks (its really funny, the advent keep sending one purge vessel into my grav well and immolating themselves purposefully against a starbase).

About to have 250 more supply and i have i cap ship crew

I outgun both ai's at the moment but they have better economies than me.

both skitankra's are high level

cant get mediafire to work for unchangeable reasons

have 114 squadrons of bombers with buffed pm's

grabbed a kortul and paid for lv. 4

7 overseers,  no assailiants, 10 sentinels, 5 subverters

Why would i want an egg?  i  can make colony frigates?

crushed the new TEC fleet.  They came at me with 5 caps and nearly 40 frigates and i slaughtered them from across the grav well.

current time in game... 1,06,47

23 purge vessels immolated and counting.

I'd get more overseers than that...I'd also not build any subverters unless you are going to use them like a boss (in which case you need more than that to lock down entire fleets for prolonged periods of time)...subverters are kind of an all or nothing thing, have only a few doesn't do you any good...given the situation, seems like just sticking to overseers is your best bet....

Reasons to get space egg:

  • Gravity warhead is AoE that prevents ships from phase jumping for a while...combined with a nearby SB and/or phase jump inhibitor, nothing is ever leaving one of your gravity wells...on the offense they are nice as they prevent the AI from retreating as easily...
  • Lvl 6 ability is extremely useful...damages planet quickly and gives you untaxed resources...yes it is lvl 6, but that's why I'd get an egg now so you can level it up...
  • Nano-dissamblers is a great ability...of course, with that many bombers it probably is overkill but gravity warhead and the lvl 6 are in my opinion enough to warrant getting an egg...

With enough overseers and skirantras, you may be able to build SBs in enemy worlds while bombing out stuff with your bombers...

If you really really can't make any headway, you can always bunker down and just slowly level up your caps...if you get a bunch of high level caps you will inherently have a better fleet than them even if outnumbered...

well, yeah.  no duh.

each of my carriers is capable of putting out 16 bomber squadrons at once and can continuously repair cloud my fleet.  Wouldn't it be better to get another of those or get another kortul so enemy fighters are nullified and i can devote all my sc slots to bombers?

If you are actually going to go attack soon and do something then get another kortul or skirantra (probably another kortul would be better, multiple instances of JW are needed to keep it up continuous)...but if you are just going to milk for XP might as well diversify for the lvl 6 abilities....space egg and marauder both have a nice lvl 6...and some point, enough kortuls/skirantras is enough....

The sooner the better.  They just get tougher the longer i let them stew, ya know, research and all...

i'm thinking it might be a good idea to scrap my subverters and go for overseers and sentinels.  Bought a vulkoras desolator. (now level five)

Taking losses.

Oh god..  The AI's made a truce.

They attacked me simultaneously with far larger fleets than mine and overran my center planet.

Running away now to shore up my frontier.

I've got only one place for them to go now and i've got 2 skitankra carriers, a vulkoras desolator, a kortul, 60 carriers, 20 overseers, 20 sentinels, a full upgrades (3 weapon, 4 defense, 1 shield) starbase, and 25 missile defense platforms in a wall of destruction.

I've got fully upgraded phase missiles so when a pirate fleet came in a moment ago it lasted all of 24 seconds.

They've got a combined 9 capital ships, (low level thankfully) 200 light frigs, 120 missle frigs, 40 anti-sc, 23 heavy cruisers, 19 carriers, 4 guardians, and upwards of 45 anti structure cruisers.

Any ideas?

Think some mines might be in order?

Kanraks seems like a good route to go....

Marauders?  what can they accomplish?

Went ahead with my plan!

Mines ruthlessley effective against unfair AI

I love how the ruiners are the ones who send out the mines since you can make the minefield as dense as you want.

I had over 100 mines set up right at their exit vector and they took out about 2/3 of the enemy fleet.

With upwards of 250 bomber squads at my disposal, the rest of their fleet was decimated inside the next 20 seconds.
