Homeopathy? REALLY? Might as well link to some nigerian scam while you're at it.
I don't consider this a political issue, I consider this a health information issue.
Now:
Rule No. 1, never trust Wikipedia on any matter that can be considered political by others.
Do you know how much a threat any alternative to conventional medicine is to the pharmaceutical companies, and how easily people with much time and an agenda can break Wikipedia? If you have people who can repeatedly edit pages on Wikipedia, and they have enough time to repeatedly do it, they can make Wikipedia say anything they want, until the people who legimately edit it are worn down and give up.
Now, have you actually had a read of the web-site, and made up your own mind if the sources are credible? Because that's all I'm asking. Or are you going to base your entire belief system on something that can be so easily manipulated, and thus be manipulated yourself? There happens to be many credible studies quoted and sourced on the site I mentioned that prove there are alternatives, but then, you would not know that because you already know exactly what's on the site I mentioned.
Tell me this before you write off something you don't know about personally without reading some credible information (and I had thought you were a person who would carefully evaluate evidence on both sides before making a conclusion) just
what is stopping ANYONE with an agenda and enough people time repeatedly writing false information and opinions until the people who actually know and have credible information give up because they don't have enough time and energy and have their own jobs still to do?
I don't consider this a political issue, I consider this a health information issue. Shouldn't people be able to make up their own mind, and be able to read credible sources and not be censored? Other people consider it political. People with money, and wanting more, and not being able to bear not continually raking it in.
See this video. Apparently cows lie too.
Rule nr A: Format your text properly.
Rule nr 2: never trust any website that sells only one agenda ("homeopathy works"). The information you see on such a site is GUARANTEED to be biased.
Rule nr #: Anecdotal stories are not proof.
Rule nr ___: Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof.
Because homeopathy has no sound theory behind it and has failed to show results in clinical trials way more than it has ever shown results, I don't see how anyone can come to the conclusion that it works if they review the research. Having an open mind about homeopathy is like being asked to have an open mind about religious beliefs when I am an atheist. Believe what you want, the evidence does not say it works. It gives the same, or worse, results compared to placebo control groups.
It's a money-transfer system where money is taken from the easily impressionable to the ones with devious minds.
Sheesh! Not worth yelling over you two, not worth it at all. Believe in what you want to believe and respect the other persons opinion.
So have you read the site and made up your own mind? Tested the sources? If you have I can talk to you about changing my point of view. As I said, I am open-minded. Whenever I get new information, I consider it against what I already know, then I make changes if necessary. I will change my beliefs if you can rationally prove the information on the web-site wrong.
But if you haven't actually tested the sources of the web-site, how do I know that you are not just acting on pure belief like you are saying I am?
How many Wikipedia web-pages do you know that mention subjective and highly emotive terms like "quackery" in pages supposedly about definitions? Funny "reliable source" isn't it?
Let's take a deep breath and relax. Innnn.....ouuuut....innnnn.....outttt.
OMMMMMMM.
The "Essense" of getting along with others...
Now, to load "Essense" and..........get along! :)
An excellent skin, and excellent advice from Master Lightstar.

My last post on this subject. I leave it for any other readers to make up their own minds. I made a reasonable post, about a web-site I recommended, and Heavenfall implied I was no better than a nigerian scammer. I was not looking for an argument, only to post about a web-site I would recommend with useful information. I'll let each person who reads make up their own mind, just like I did.
As an actual scientist I would never expose myself to such a biased source if I wanted to form my own opinion on a subject. You may not realize it, but the bias of the site actually disqualifies it as a source for material. If you want me to analyse the studies and come up with some conclusion, I can tell you others have done that before me and their conclusion is that homeopathy shows no results stronger than placebo. Some studies also compared the results to people taking medicines (real ones, that is) for ailments, and they have of course shown superior results.
Because of its underlying, fundamentally unsound logic, and because of its specific lack of results, I did equate posting about homeopathy to posting about nigerian scams. They're great for getting money out of the pockets of gullible people. They do nothing else.
A post on a public form that contains nonsense should always be challenged, otherwise the lies will be all the harder to counter later on.
While you hold hands, homeopathy kills people by keeping them from seeking a real cure. If you don't think it's worth speaking up, then don't.
I am sorry to hear that. I keep an open mind, and haven't resorted to namecalling. What fundamentally sound, logical, and most importantly, fundamentally unbiased site do you recommend instead?
You can start with any of the most reputable medical journals. Although you will never find a "fundamentally unbiased site", those are the least biased (and the site you linked falls under the category of "most biased").
Everyone has a bias.
Live with it. Just be nice to each other. We're all in this together.
*doc will pay to be transported off this mud ball.
I'm looking forward to when this devolves into a political tirade....then I can relocate it to the nether regions where it can be forgotten.
Mostly I just wonder why anyone would 'bother' recommending anything 'alternative' to established reality...other than to incite adverse responses....;p
Treat whatever you want however you want, but the fact remains: no one here gets out alive.
Still, it's nice when you can get a few more years of useful life. ![]()
Here is an interesting article from badscience, people reading this, why not read the entire article and all the comments and make up your own mind? Also, emotionally note how aggressive and belligerent almost all negative responses are, and arguably, how reasoned and reflective the positive comments are. There is a strong correlation, I wonder if there is a causation or not?

I do thank StephenAus for that link, though, because I like to think outside of the box for the least toxic things- including the least toxic and least corruptive in health treatments. Many times, we may end up living longer than we intended-- yet because of all the poisons we injected or ingested during our younger lives, our quality of life is really harsh in the later days. - and we may end up at the mercy of the medical establishment in a nursing home. For that reason, and the fact that the human body should be taken care of as the temple of God, are the reasons I want to treat it like "Gold"- without getting all "OCD" over my body and treating it like a god. I detox my body every once in a while - basically from all of the industrial crap and heavy metals our bodies and livers get assaulted with on a daily basis.
Still, I LOVE what you said we must care to a point- but this physical life isn't forever... thank god ![]()
fucking amen to that boldy...
i really hate this world so much with all its corrupt bullshit.. the world is just not the same anymore...
maybe one day.. if i ever enter the new one.. ill have some reprieve, peace and maybe ill be granted sanity... oh and im gonna be sitting on
gods knee and asking ALOT OF FUCKING QUESTIONS too... i have many of them for HIM.!
Once upon a time 'the earth is flat and the sun is the chariot of some god' was established reality.
Questioning that established reality is how mankind makes progress.
You mean it ISN'T?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! .....;p
According to some it is, if reality is decided by your own personal opinion. Like homeopathy.
Just to be clear, everyone perceives "reality" a bit differently, if only because of geographic location.
On the cosmic scale of things (and many others as well), this all matters very little.
As long as one accepts the consequences of his beliefs and is less critical of others', we could and should be more tolerant and accepting.
I just better make this abundantly clear..... if the earth is NOT flat....then I'm not actually UNDERNEATH it down here..... so I don't therefore NEED these magnetic boots.
Now.....
Before I take them off....we ARE SURE it's not flat?
;p
Oh yes. Nothing to fear.
