Things that have not been fixed yet

First off, does anyone know when the next patch for Rebellion will be?


I’m guessing the devs are “busy” with balancing issues and what not, but these interface and Galaxy forge issues have been around for awhile and there seems to be no mention of anything being fixed internally in the patch release notes. Perhaps some of these problems have been addressed before, but again, we still haven't seen any improvements to these areas as far as I can tell.

Interface
-Option to auto pin and un-auto pin Titans and Starbases
-Empire tree, including:

+Capital ships not being ordered from highest to lowest, especially when cycling through them with hotkeys

+Ability management for frigates when empire tree is stacked (i.e. only one Hoshiko uses Repair Bots ability out of the ten selected)


Map Designer and Galaxy Forge
-Triggers??? Why bother including it with the new galaxy forge if you can't do anything at all with it?
-Neutral colony placement (Why is there still no way for planet start with a neutral colony? I’d love to make a map where TEC Rebels’ research option Truce Amongst Rouges plays a larger role)
-Planetary Bonuses (expert Crystal miners is STILL the only bonus available)
-Consistent Artifact placement (most of the time when I place artifacts the planets end up with the right one, but I still see artifacts being swapped for another a lot)

First off, does anyone know when the next patch for Rebellion will be?
The next patch will be somewhere in August. The dev's haven't given us a more specific timeframe yet.

Good summary of some of the missing stuff that still needs to be adressed.

It was planed but never finished. I wouldn't get your hopes up on it.

You can in the map designer. However it actually doesn't help with truce amongst rogues, its actually bad since you'll become allies and you can NEVER colonize that planet after you research it.

-Consistent Artifact placement (most of the time when I place artifacts the planets end up with the right one, but I still see artifacts being swapped for another a lot)

This happens when a planet you place an artifact on also gets a random artifact, since planets can only get one artifact at a time. If you have a map where you need a placed artifact to work, try lowering the artifact density (even to zero), you can always manually place more artifacts to make up for it.

I wonder if they could make neutral planets able to be "overthrown" by TR culture, even if they can't attack or bomb the planet.  This could simulate the neutrals becoming so friendly with the TEC Rebels that they voluntarily join their empire.

This might require other changes since IIRC, neutral worlds can't be overthrown by anyone's culture now.  Also, balance of TAR would have to be taken into account.

My Enhanced 4X Mod makes extensive use of neutral colonies. I had to completely scrap Truce Amongst Rogues and replace it with the TEC Rebel colony frigate being able to completely capture TEC militia and neutral colonies. Sadly that means the pirates and insurgents will still attack you, but in many cases this is actually more useful.

is your 4x mod posted for rebellion?  I remember playing with the diplomacy one.

Yes it is. It has everything the diplomacy version had for the most part, with some extra stuff to make the subfactions more unique added so far.

Dont forget the mouse bug that that has BEEN HERE SINCE BETA!  Making the game unplayable for multi-monitor owners (a clear warning NEVER to pay for an unreleased game...caveat emptor...you get what you pay for, or "pre-paid" for, even from StarDock. :(  )

Play with 1 monitor running and others off if you don't like the mouse issue.  It's no longer a bug, it is a feature.  Most games are not made for 2 monitors.

Interestingly, I havent had this problem with other RTSs  like AoK, AoC, AoE 3, RoN, SC2, SupCom, etc. 

It's a bug.
