Ever have one of those days where you felt that the AI just laughs at you?

I have today.

It like the AI just said "Screw the rule, I'm f*$# you over, you peon of a fleshbag".

Now I may be a little out of standard setup of Diplomacy, but I thought only the Vasari had a minelayer unit that could put mines in neutral non-colonisible zones. But the Advent too? come on.

advent have had the mine squads on the carriers ever since entrenchment, and vasari had the special mine layer ship, BUT tec still can only mine gws they actually have colonised, and yes it is mildly frustrating against both vasari & advent for this reason.

Yeah, I know that the Advent has Homing Mine Sqaudrons attached to their Carriers, but advent carriers cannot lay independent mines in a non-colonisible zone like a Worm-hole or Asteroids-belt like the Vasari can, the Vasari actually have a specialised mine layer unit - the Ruiner.

But if you look at the images closely, those are Homing Mines, like the kind that are built by fabricator from the Tactical Structures menu of a planet's build menu, and not Homing Mine Sqaudrons.

Sorry if I come across little turse, I don't mean it on purpose, I'm just annoyed at how unstable the Sins games can be at times. It's a good game, but it would be a bloody awesome game if it wasn't so buggy.

I was expecting Sins Trinity to be of the same good quality as Galactic Civ II ultimate, sadly this is not the case.  Worst purchase I have made so far this year.

There nothing in the game that says they cant.

There are only 1 kind of homing mine. The kind built from the Advent Carriers. You make a squad, then you deploy that squad. When deployed they turn into the mines you see there.

So before you bash this game, make sure you know how to play it.

Ok, then please explain the following images then, Homing mines deployed in a Magnetic Cloud zone. I take it that to deploy the mines from the sqaudron to a zone acts like ability in the squadron control panel, I thought that Magnetic clouds disabled all abilities? otherwise you'll be build starbases and the like in them too.

But I think I found the bug, the Homing Mines are being towed through phase lanes and worm holes by their targets when get close enough to the event horizon. I even towed some through wormholes with scouts just to see if it was possible. will it's not easy to do, it's not very hard either. you just need a unit with medium health levels, to survive the first mine or two, the third mine takes the unit out and the the rest continue on through the wormhole. For some reason the wormholes and phase lane scripts veiw the moving Homing Mines as jumping ships and thus pulls them through it.

Finally it's not my intention or want to bash the game, as I said before it's a good game, but it could be a bloody awesome game if the bugs were dealt with.

Argh, Ok, I stuffed up, lol, and being on the the tail-end of a 36 hr bout of insomnia didn't help at all.

My most sincere apologies to anyone and everyone who tried to show me the short sightedness of above comments.

But there is bug (and thankfully it's minor annoying one at that) with towing homing mines through wormholes and a lesser extent and extremely rarer occurrance phase lanes. If a Dev or someone can PM me the instruction on how to manually record a section of a game I'm more that willing to replicate the events and email it to the Devs.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to extract my foot of mouth, which I seem to have firmly lodged in there.

Yeah, the magnetic field one seems like an oversight. Probably because those homing mine squadrons are the only fighters in the game with abilities.

Did you get the first one? Sounds to me like you just didn't like what the game is.
