By blood, sweat and tears...lol.  Seriously though, when I first started skinning way back in 2005, I had a lot of help from the more seasoned skinners,  I also would download a blind, and open it Skin Studio to see how things were put together.

Glad I was able to help. |-)

For the Alt Tab:  Explorer and IE > Drag N Drop > alt tab switcher button.  This is an image, not a color.

If you mean the text color for Alt Tab, here that is:  Change Skin Colors > Edit Vista/7 part colors (button at bottom of window that popped up).  Click on Combo box in next window, scroll down to Alt tab window...change the font color here.

About the Black text in your window, I think that is the window color text, that you have to change that with the Change Skin Colors section.  I'm not sure of that though...my brain is not working too good right now...lol |-)

I gave you the info on the alt-tab  in my response above..  There is no background color for this image.   As I said above, the alt-tab is an image.  The only way to change the color of it is to re-color the image in your graphics software.

I also gave you the info for the black text.  You have to go into the section Change skin colors > Click on the combobox at the top of the window, select Show me the skin-defined system colors, click on the color for the window text, and that will take you to the color pallette for the window text.

Just an aside...it is very difficult to work with/make a black skin.  I would suggest making the window color white...it greatly reduces the problems you would have in trying to get colors to work.  You can change the window color in the same section as the window text.  Just my 2 cents worth...

Yes, I will test it for you...Having the actual blind will help for me to remember where that black test is from.  Here is my email:  MJR45RN at aol dot com...(substitute the at and dot with the correct characters).

That text color, (like so many others in Windows 7 an Vista) is not changeable.  It is best to leave the explorer window in that area a light color.

Correct, Tom - that one's a "hard coded" item. MS coded it in a way that cannot be changed.
