How do you change Pirate Raid Strength in Rebellion?

In the Rebellion Beta, I have been having trouble being able to change the Pirate Raid Strength for pirate missions.  In Diplomacy, we would just normally click on how much we want to pay them and then it would change the strength from Weak to moderate, to strong, or to massive.  However, in Rebellion, I can't seem to pay them more than 7500 credits for a weak raid, which in the middle to late game is too weak.  I play as the TEC Rebel and to have the pirates go in before me, really helps complete a full assault for the TEC Rebel.  Is there something that I am missing of how to change the raid strength for pirates in Rebellion?

Thank you!

Yes any info would be appreciated.  Its been annoying to try and figure it out.  I also read in the update that there was pirate research or something?

  • Updated Pirate Raid fleet compositions per level. Raids will now have a broader range of ship types and numbers. The max level raid is now particularly brutal, so you won't want to be the target of that!
  • Pirate Mission costs adjusted for new raid levels (based on average summoned fleet supply). Pirate Missions are now substantially more expensive to account for the greater difficulty.
  • Reduced Pirate research upgrade costs for all subjects.

If you figure out anything.  Please let me know!

I'm not sure either. I've had max fleet supply, only weak available. I've had maxedfleet supply with zero available. Weak. I've trieno only basic supply with 100k cash onhand. Still weak pirate.

Someone please clue us in!

What level of strength were the pirates at the time? (check the bounty screen right under the pirate picture)

As I noticed you can only buy pirate missions up to their level.

I have put more than 60k of credits on a player and then go to offer a mission (pirate level being severe) and I still cannot change it, even though I have 100k still.  Its hard to believe. Like I said any help will be great as this is a definite issue, because TaeC rebels highly rely on the pirates, for distractions or main assaults.

Bump. Still looking for an answer. Thank you for your your help! I appreciate it. I'm still looking for a solution. However I do wonder if the devs have it turned off for beta because from reading it seems as if the pirates have been causing game crashing. Please let me know! I would really like to get this figured out.

Max available raid strength depends on the current pirate raid level. So you can't send a raid larger than what would randomly be deployed.

Ok, so when the raid strength is at severe?  How would you change the strength of the pirate mission?

Thank you for the reply!

Yarlen, I hate to disagree with a dev.

However, I sent a 50k pirate raid at my son.  The pirate's fleet strength took up the entire bar on the planetary enemy status bar.

Yet I can still only send a "weak" fleet after that of less than 25 ships.

And this was three hours into the game.

Really, Yarlen?  How long must the game go on before one can send a severe raid?  Days?

If you kill pirate fleets consistently then you lower the amount of ships they can field. They actually have to buy out new ships I believe.

Yah, but they phase space the new ones in.  Also, it just seems like you can't change the level of the pirate mission.  Not a raid, but a mission to the pirates.  I know how to put more bounty on someones head, but that raid is random, I use the mission to be more specific and then follow them in, but I just can't seem to figure out how to get past the 'weak' pirate mission level.

Hmm, no that sounds like a bug..

Update:  Yeah, this is bugged. We'll get it sorted. ;)

Bump.  It did not get fixed in Beta 3 release.  Still can't change the raid strength for a pirate mission.

Just want to make sure this wasn't forgotten.

Thank you Yarlen I thought that I was the only one having this problem. Because I really love using Pirates as a tool in my war against all who appose me in this game.
