Vasari...the hell are they?

I know this has been asked countless time, but at this point it's getting rather frustrating. Approximately when is the next patch coming out that's going to have the Vasari? I feel that if Stardock waits much longer, then there won't be enough time to properly test them out.

The last I checked they were chillin in Trinity, though some maybe hanging around trying to conduct diplomacy... as the for rest they are hiding in phase space.....

They seem to release updates on Tuesdays or Thursdays so your best bet is to check back in a few days.

They're coming, they're coming. They just got delayed a little when an underling fell asleep at the phase missile controls and set a warhead flying into the phase stabilizer they were about to use to get here, forcing them to conquer and consume a unimportant planet to build a new one. ;)

Hmmm the vasari may not want to arrive when they see what is waiting for them behold the Coronata the pride of the Unity the vasari shall be subjugated into submission through the will of the Advent thank you that is all =]

The Vasari have a saying: "A closely monitored phase drive never achieves critical jump charge."

I think it loses something in translation.

If you are willing to do a little coding, you can just splice the Vasari titans right into the tech trees of the other races, allowing you to take them for a spin.  Just swap out the names and research prerequisites.

That said, I can see why they haven't released them yet: their Titans are still a work in progress.  They don't have the impressive capabilities that the other races have (in-system phase jump?  Really?).  We'll see them in an official release soon enough.

There remains a lot of work to balance out base damage and those for abilities.  For example:

  • Tec Rebel Titan deals 265 DPS base
  • Tec Loyalist Titan deals 110 DPS base
  • Advent Rebel Titan deals 121 DPS base
  • Advent Loyalist Titan deals 99 DPS base
  • Vasari Rebel Titan deals 124 DPS base
  • Vasar Loyalist Titan deals 105 DPS base

As you can clearly see, there are massive disconnects between the Titans' basic damage stats.  However, that doesn't mean the TEC Rebel Titan is the best.  Given the importance of the abilities that balance out against these damage stats, it's not an easy thing to just push the Titans out the door, as nice as the eye candy may be.

Actually, MicroPhase Jump is pretty cool ability. It has potential to save the Titan, when being under heavy fire and it has very nice "synergy" with the Maw ability.

It is true though, if it was up to me, i would rejuggle the abilities a bit myself.

My philosophy is that in-system phase jump is a great ability - for an interceptor cruiser (as the Vasari already have).  If you need to get your Titan out of a fight in a hurry, you didn't do a very good job managing the battle and don't necessarily deserve to keep it.

Based on that 'tweak' could you not simply create copies of say the two examples you mentioned (the rebel/loyalist advent) and just re-label them as Vasari?

Or is the application restrictive to just the 2 species atm?

P.S. Im not personally going to try any of it, id rather wait. Just curious though...
