REQUEST: Option: VERY SLOW

Hi there dear devs ...

so after a long time I am back to the game (to get the 10.- bonus :-)

and have to say that it is really a fun MP game, but as I only play with my friends.
they and I would like a VERY SLOW Option for all points (special research) ...

we played together last weekend a game and after 9 hours I already had researched everything and was only able to conquer 9 planets.

For us that isn't fun, as we like to enjoy our developed things and not that they are already obsolete, before we even have recogniced them.

SO PLEASE COULD YOU INCLUDE an VERY SLOW option for all adjustable settings .

THANK YOU

Only have to mention that sometimes my game crashed before the autosave (MP) ... played 2 hours and crash, but than 1 hour and crash ... but haven't that issue with SP game

GOOD GAME ... has still real great potential, really want, that it will be more complex in the future ...

Thank you

What difficulty were you playing at?

Tip, don't put your fleet capacity to full right away.  The reason is because regardless of how many ships you are actually using at any given time you still lose 75% of all income rates (all incomes are affected.  Gold, metal and crystal) regardless of total number of ships you are actually fielding at any given time.  In other words, if you max out your fleet supply, but are only using a quarter to half of your fleet supply, you are losing a ton of resources for supply that you're not using.  If you only need about half that, then only raise fleet supply to what you need and use extra income for infrasture, economy, starbases and other research and the like.  And another tip, you can raise the Cap ship research to the top if you like as that row of tech has zero effect on total income rate.  And you only need the first 4 Fleet supply techs to field the max number of capital ships.  That means you are only losing 38% of your income for fleet supply instead of 75% and still leaves you room for some extra other ships until you expand enough to where you can afford to raise the fleet supply higher and still afford the other things you need to build to survive.

Manage your economy wisely and you'll find it much easier to push forward.  Choose what tech you choose to research wisely as well.  Don't always do the research in order.  There are plenty of techs that are more important and more useful that should be researched before some of the more minor ones.  The economy tip I've explained above is extremely important for any race.  You'd be surprised how many people's games I've seen grind to a halt because they raised the fleet supply too high, too early and too fast.

Hope this helps

Well, if its just your friends you could make a small minimod to make slow even slower, no devs required.

Go to your steam app data folder and go to Rebellion. In the folder with the .exe files, you should see a folder called GameInfo. In that folder go and copy a folder called Gameplay.constants.

Then go to your my documents folder. Go to my games, Ironclad Games, Rebellion. You should see a bunch of folders for saves and also a folder that says Mods-Rebellion v0.90 or something like that (or whatever version you're running). In that folder make a new folder called "Slow Mod" or whatever, then in that folder make a new folder called GameInfo. In that folder paste the Gameplay.constants file.

Open your copied gameplay.constants file in notepad and look for the lines below. By reducing the numbers under the "slow" label, you will make the associated features even slower. You might want to make the changes one at a time because I'm unsure if setting things like buildSpeed or income to negative will work, but after say lowering Research speed to -7.5, save the file, start rebellion, go to options, and the mod tab. Enable the mod and hit apply changes, and your checksum should not be zero. You should now notice research takes longer. Repeat with the other catagories until they become slow enough for you, then zip up your "slow mod" folder and send it to your friends and enjoy your super slow game.

Wow, this boggle my mind. I always play with everything on "fastest it can be". I think playing with very slow on, would make me want to watch paint dry. I also always play with smallest fleets on too. Make the battles more personal and dangerous that way...

... thank you.

And as I said, it isn't useable for normal Internet MP games, you only could play it with friends over 4-5 weekends.
So it is a more tactical than fast clicking :-) ...

for sure not playable with some people over internet

Once again thank you for showing that
