Smurfing on Rebellion

Smurfing on Rebellion

How do you smurf on Rebellion?  In another post Quar confirmed that he was a player named Don_John (cute name), but I remember looking at that player's stats and it had significantly fewer games played than Quar's previous Games Played/Wins record.  How was he able to do that without purchasing more than one account?  How can you reset your GP/W record?

I'm guessing that you change your Steam name and avatar and that there's a line that can be modified in an .ini file somewhere.  (I'm sure this will all become public knowledge sooner or later, so we might as well get it out now.)

The reason why you guys haven't seen much of me online lately is because I figured out how to smurf!

Just kidding, just kidding.  Two weeks ago I started a new full-time job and it's really cut into my gaming time.

Good job, fellas. Now that everybody realizes that it is just a game then people wouldn't have to complain about their pathetic scores.

People don't smurf because of pathetic scores...they smurf because of good scores that scare off people (or they smurf for other reasons unrelated to score)...

Smurfing is an inalienable right - unless of course you actually want credibility to matter.  There may be many reasons that smurfing is acceptable, but the possibility of duping unsuspecting opponents to create an unbalanced and unfair advantage is what makes it unacceptable.

You are correct, people smurf to hide their good profiles but I can't say I have ever seen anyone scared off by a good record. Unless by "scare off" you mean "leave because of clear team imbalance."

In fastest 5v5s I can see why some people get upset about smurfing. 9 people can be starting a game that they think will be an even match, but isn't.

In 3s/4s normal speed matches I don't care. I'll play anyone with any record.

True that.
