Can you add an option to slow down the game speed?

Isn't the game slow enough?

1x is slow 2x is where u should play and 4x - 8x is when you want to move your fleet

I don't want to play this game any slower than it is now, and that's coming from someone who thinks Supreme Commander is too fast.

I think you can change the slow/medium/fast multipliers that get applied to the game in the constants file though, if you really want to.

You can make a mod by editting the gameplay.constants file that has slower resource/building/ship speed rates and all that. I don't know if you can actually edit the frame rate of the game though. Do not edit the original file, make a copy of it and make it a mod.

Do you want to slow it down to manage things easier or just to watch battles play out slower? For managements, you can just reduce resource rate, research, etc to prevent being overwhelmed and then just speed it up when you have a handle on things. 

For viewing stuff like combat slower, I don't think you can within the constraints of the game (unless some modder has a way to slow down animations and whatnot). 

Supreme commander can be plenty fast if you want to play it fast. You can pretty much be at an all out war five minutes into the game. Supreme commander 2 is even worse .

That being said, I actually find playing sins pretty calming at its current "normal" pace (all levers set to "normal" at gamestart). I actually came to Sins thinking "hey, it looks like a more complex version of Dyson" (now Eufloria)... and in a very weird, abstract way it is.

What the OP probably wants is more time to micro his units, Like with the 1/2 speed button in Anno. No idea if that is possible with just modding a few gamefiles, though. You could double the hull/shield related stats of all ships to make combat slower, but that wouldn't quite be the same I guess.

Except you can't slow the game slower than 1x speed, which I think is what the OP is requesting.

I just pause the game. You can still place buildings. sets ships to be made, buy and sell, ect ect. I play my games paused then like 2x/4x lol

i want to slow down the entire game - including movement resources weapons fire everything -  id like to be able to slow down to - 8

i don't think it would require much in the way of game programming just a change in the options so you can go negative as well as increasing it to positive

I spend allot of the game paused as well - I like to "take care of things" - all comands and such when the game is paused and the rest if the i spend zoomed in
