Start8 + Windows 7 look appeareance

Dear Sirs, I'd like to know if there's a way to get on Win 8 the Win 7 Orb button with the Win 7 wonderful style and not with the awful Metro interface.

This request also applies to the Windows 8 OS in full: there are various themes to let the Windows 7 look as the Windows 8.

Call me weird but I'm looking for a Windows 7 theme to apply to Windows 8, in order to let it appears as the Windows 7, without losing the new Task manager and Windows Explorer.

I'd like not to see / use the awful Mero style at all.

Start8 is more of a hybrid start menu for Windows 8.  Right now Windows 8 is still an early beta, so we still have to see what Microsoft is going to do with the final product.

Yes, I had read about a way to have a start menu in Win8, and immediately downloaded it, but I was kind of disappointed by what I got, I was hoping for a more traditional start menu, with a way to restart and shut down, and a submenu for the installed programs, and access to the control panel.

If you right-click on the start button you have options to shut-down or restart.

Now that Win 8 is released, I see Start8 (at least so far) works as required.

Now that it IS out, maybe we can ask for specific things, like

It would be nice to have separate 'Vista' and 'Win7' skins.  In Win7, the Start button said "start',while in Vista it's the orb in Start8. I'd kind of like the option.

 

Thanks again Stardock for a great app - one that makes Win8 really worth using.

If you right click on the button, there is a "Pick a different Start Button image..." option that lets you choose from a variety of different button styles.
