Young Iowa Artist Creates Work Of Art

A large rock sets along side of highway 25 in Adair County, Iowa. Young kids use it to spray paint obscenties and other graffiti on it. Until one day, a young local artist by the name of, Ray "Bubba" Sorensen II sees it. He somehow comes up with a brand new vision for the huge stone. So one day he grabbed his paints and headed out to the site of his new art project, between Greenfield and highway 25. The old graffiti rock would never be the same again. Now the rock has become a land mark and no one has tried to deface it ever since. I must say, it took someone very talented to create such a work of art. Everything that you see painted here is all stone. Here is what the new face lift looks like today... GCJ

Beautifully! Painted.

When I was viewing the first picture, I thought the rock had a Flag draped over it, until I scrolled on further down the page did I relies that this talented artist had drawn these pictures to look so life like.
The army officer at the bottom of the rock really does look like he is coming out from the ground, and the NY fire fighter, he looks as if he is really walking into the rock. The artwork is so realistic and truly touches one’s heart.

If this were the type of artwork those graffiti artist out there drew, It wouldn’t bother me in the least, if they painted every wall, park bench, fence, building or any other fixtures within my city. I would welcome them all.
Let’s prey that no graffiti FOOL will ever graffiti over this with their untalented designs.

I wish to make it back there to the USA again sometime in the near future, if and when ever I do, this would be one land mark I promise I would not miss visiting. Thank You! This truly is a magnificent piece of work.

It's great to see patriatism is "cool" again. Too bad it took so many lives to make Americans realize we have a great country. Compared to most out there, our complaints seem pretty puny.

Yeah when I was a young kid, I didn't realize just what a great country that I lived in until one day my mom was telling me how people longed to come here and live because it was the greatest country in the world and how fortunate we were to be here. The older I grew, the more I could see just how right my mother was. GCJ
