No it's just the CGI making them rotate. The engine hasn't been reworked entirely for Rebellion. You can probably expect it for a proper sequal not just a standalone expansion.

That's what I expected (even if I hoped otherwise  :S ).  Thank you.

Go play EVE for moving turrets.

Come back in 3 years and see SOASE "Complacency" still doesn't have turrets, still isn't 64-bit, still uses a multi-core CPU for crap, still doesn't have .... and so on.

Eve online and sins are two different games Semaz thats not really being fair at all. If we had moving turrets this game would lag to crap. Unless it was exclusively on Titans.

That's what I was figuring.  I thought that surely they wouldn't actually make the guns on all ships rotate, but I was thinking that perhaps they could have on titans which is why I asked just to make sure.

One of the devs posted they weren't ever going to have moving turrets since it would be up thousands of ships with moving parts on their models. Besides all of the extra cpu / gpu stress the current 2gb limit would bust way sooner.

They might be able to implement rotating turrets in Sins 2 though. Whenever that arrives...

Processor limitations volt.. they can't turn on all the bells and whistles with this engine because of lag.
