My feedback for beta2 (and some ideas for advent tech)

  • Advent Research categories named wrongly (For example, Civilian instead of Harmony)
  • No capital letters in save games
  • Mass Communion research comes late
  • Please give all clones a visual effect that makes them distinguishable from regular ships for allies, especially in the empire tree.
  • I have only played two games and so it might have been coincidence, but the AI appeared to be passive and very easy to defeat.
  • Not very impressed with the new Advent abilities in general. The add-ons to TEC were a lot more distinctive, noticeable, cool.
  • I’m surprised only one of the Advent’s specialities received substantial attention, namely culture. It occurred to me that nothing has changed along the lines of defence, drones (strike craft) or research facilitation, which are (at least were) other strong points of the Advent.
    For example, and I’m letting my imagination run freely here:
    - A synergy ability for bombers. “Strike in Unity”: if you control a certain number of bombers in a gravity well, the bombers fly in formation and perform coordinated strikes against a single target, yielding increased damage output. If it’s too powerful, limit it to certain ship types as valid targets, give the ability a hefty cooldown, etc. The bombers get a nice graphical effect (glow) when they use this ability.
    - “Knowledge is power”: research that requires one or more points in Knowledge Aggregation. The citizens of your empire rejoice whenever you complete research. They donate resources to encourage further research. You receive X% of the original research cost.
    - "Unified defenders" ("Strength in numbers") Bonuses for tactical structures at planets whose tactical slots have been used up and have no more tactical upgrades available. Again, a nice glow to show this :)

Some other remarks:

  • From the change log: "Added Loyalist / Rebel text to player InfoCards in the Relationship window". I don't see that.
  • Cloud save dates incorrect
  • When trying to load cloud save files, error: "You don't have the files needed"
  • Advent Loyalist Corvette: wrong description of ability in build menu

The Rebel and Loyalist player info is in the game, go into the relations menu (the one where you see the pictures of all players in one page), highlight any of the other players, it's noted right under their name.

Wail of Sacrifice - maybe add another tech to speed up pop growth so we can use this more often *_*

I like the full tactical slot idea too. Can either place it on loyalist or rebel faction for advent.

 

Anyone else experience this in Rebellion where your UI configuration does not get saved?

Does not keep sound settings, keybindings and effects for me. My saves are also not showing up.
