One Tree Up

Another tooth down

I hope everyone had a good weekend out there in blog land. As far as myself, it went pretty well.

My weekend actually started on Friday, which was my first day off. We took the boys ice skating at the Galleria in Houston. My oldest son is really taking to it..the youngest one could probably live without it. After ice skating we picked up my husband's sister Debbie, and we drove to Galveston. They were having the "Dickens on the Strand" festival, and we went to a Hand Bell Concert at St. Joseph's Church. It was so nice, and it was actually the first time I've been to a concert like that. Two groups of bells from seperate churches put on the show, and there was a harpist and a flutist who joined in on several songs. The most beautiful song of all was "Silent Night". I really enjoyed myself, and my kids loved the music. Debbie said that it "almost" got her into the holiday spirit. (She's in the middle of an ordeal with her husband...)

Saturday was kind of a lazy day. We didn't get back from Houston until nearly 3 am that morning, so we all just laid around and vegetated until around 2. After pep talking one another, we all got up, cleaned up and went to the Farmer's Market tree farm in search of the perfect tree. We found a beautiful 7' Blue Spruce. The guys wrapped it and loaded it all up for us. The boys got a free sucker and I bought 4 delicious Satsumas to enjoy. There's nothing like fresh, farm grown fruits and veggies..yum!! After we got the tree to our house and into a bucket of water, we went to Wal-Mart for even more Christmas lights. I'm not sure what we're going to do with all of them. I'm sure my husband will wrap them around something stationary in the front yard...Just hope it's not one of our neighbors...

Today (Sunday) was back to work for both my husband and I. I was all ready to go before I realized that my keys were locked in my car. So, the boys and I had an extra hour or so with one another while my husband drove from his job back home to unlock my car. I swear, I'd forget body parts in the car if they weren't properly adhered...Anyway, after I picked up the boys from my parents', we drove around and looked at some Christmas lights tonight. Some people really go all out!! It looks like the big thing now is the big, inflatable snowmen and Santas that I saw in several yards. Those things must have been 10 feet tall!! After my hubby got home from work, we decorated the Christmas tree. The house smells so festive now that the tree is inside.

After the tree went up, my son's 2nd tooth came out. Okay, I helped it to come out..and he was most upset. I couldn't help it..it was leaning forward and I knew that he'd have wound up swallowing it during lunch tomorrow..

I hope everyone had a good weekend. How do I post pictures on here???

Those big inflatable lawn guys are the thing here too. One yard near our old neighborhood has close to twenty! There are snowmen, the Grinch, Santas, Pooh, etc. I think every inch of their yard is covered. The other big thin this year is those lit deer whose heads move. I haven't gotten any lights up outside yet but got a 12ft tree and a table top tree up inside. I love the warm lights at night.
