Feature Requests

It looks very nice and appears to fill exactly the need me and my friends saw. One major problem with hotspotting the start screen is that it and the search function block the entire screen, preventing you from seeing, say, a webpage telling you to type in a particular command. It's a silly design flaw (amongst others regarding multiple monitors) and should have been seen earlier.

Anyhow, feature requests:

1) A pony.

2) Ability to disable the lower left hotspot while Start8 is active. I hate trying to be careful and go pixel hunting.

3) Resizable? My friend suggested that had the start screen covered merely 1/3 or 1/2 the screen he would've been ok with it.

4) Pony!!!

Important stuff first: Are you saying you want two ponies, or just emphasizing your desire for one pony?

First of all: Thank you so much for this. :D It's amazing how much friendlier the Metro application search becomes when it does not take over the entire screen.

I agree that resizing the search view would be welcome. I am admittedly running in a VM on a lower resolution, but right now it still takes away around half of my screen. XD

Another thing that occurred to me is to allow opening the application list on the left in its "zoomed out" state, where the program groups are visible as tiles, very similarly to the old Start Menu. Personally, that would serve as a better starting point to search rarely used applications for me - which is what I usually use the Start Menu groups for.

Are ponies considered 1/2 a horse? Either he wants 3/4ths of a horse (the emphasis on one pony) or two ponies that transform into a fully fledged horse (which would be why he stated his desires twice).

I think we're on to something here.

Like, Voltron-style?  I can get behind that.

I like the adjustable size in the new version but, err... the "small" option isn't all that small on my monitor. XD How about a "tiny" option then?

What's your screen resolution?  Are we talking netbook here?

No, I'm currently running it in a VM with an 1280x1024 resolution. The "small" option still takes away around half of the screen area.

EDIT: Here's a screenshot:
