Sadly as its your first download, we have to wait for it to be authorized. I'm told they only do it once... :S

Just want to say that your website looks really nice now...currently picking which planets I like the best and want to use...awesome work, man....

Some things:

  1. Some of your ice planets has a screwy texture, as the upper third or so doesn't "match" the lower two-thirds....seems to be "Planet_Ice_2" and "Planet_Ice_3" utilized by PlanetIce (the third entry you have for meshes)...
  2. For the TEC space mines, the blinking lights didn't seem to get the memo that they mesh is no smaller...so, you have blinking in the middle of nowhere...
  3. None of your planets have city lights...I know you are worried about memory issues, but sometimes your planets will be cherry picked into other mods...and those mods may not even add anything themselves, just change files...just saying, if you have the time it'd be nice to at least have the nightlights as an option...
  4. What is the difference between the updated versions of the base planets (PlanetIce, PlanetGasGiant, etc.) and the new additions (Axeldude_PlanetIce_x, etc.)?
  5. Are you going to do "moon" textures to replace Rebellion's dwarf planet?

Thanks Seleuceia :D

Yeah there have been "issues" with the particle effects, mainly because I didn't resize them together with the meshes, as you may have seen in my other thread, it's a b*tch to manually resize the particle effects .. :(

I've noticed indeed some of the textures are not matching 100%, I think those were the vanilla textures, I'm thinking of replacing them completely. As for the nightlight, I'll add them in one of my next releases, I've got the same feedback on moddb :D

And right now there is no real difference between the original files (PlanetTerran) and my files (PlanetTerran_0), I'm working on planet bonuses to add more variation to the existing types and change some of the values on the new planet types.

The moon textures are kinda.. weird, I don't know how to change them to use a new texture, I've tried a few times but it gets all funky :')

Well, you have moons in your sol pack, yes?  Could just use those...but I haven't seen a download for Sol pack so only going by screenshots...

Oh yeah, I have moon/dwarf sized planets :)

I thought you meant ones that used the same shading like the vanilla dwarf planet, that's what I tried doing :D

Where is the download for the sol pack?  I feel stupid for asking this, it's probably really obvioius....

I've deleted them from my dropbox, if you can wait until next week? I'm uploading a new version then

Oh that's fine....just didn't want them to be gone for good, they looked so good on the screenshots....

Its like an asteroid, the mesh has dimples, unsure how to retexture the protoplanet, due to the textures (as you say) look weird when you put them on the mesh, but I suppose its to be expected since the mesh isn't perfectly round.

Updated/changed the OP.

I'm just going to use a smaller planet mesh and make 4 different dwarf planets, although I'd love to use the default model, I just can't.

Release should be 15/08 which changed quite some things as from 0.981

Did you guys know if this mods works with the sins optimization project? any chance of it being implemented in the mod? thanks.

DLed v0.99, aweseome work!  Noticed you have lots of moon/planetoids....very impressive...

Some things I've noticed:

  • Volanic planetoid seems to have a seam showing in the upper hemisphere
  • The bottom of one of your backdrops seems to have an issue (seams not lining up?)...it's the one that has a watercolor like nebula and some purple wispy stuff at the bottom...

Thanks for the feedback Seleuceia, glad you like it! :D

next version, when the next official patch is released, will have a few more planets/planetoids/updated textures (not much tho), I cut some off of the 0.99 release.

As of now I'm taking a small break, doing a couple of particle effects here and there a day, after my vacation I'm going to  get back to it :D

@Onefire2: I'll have a look :)

EDIT: as for the volcanic planetoid (Io?) that's a problem with the texture itself, seems like it isn't totally sphereical, I'll try and look for another one but I doubt there is one around..

Couldn't you just resize the original? Or does that make some artifacts?

I might just have to sneakily slip these into DS and not tell anyone just to see what people say.  ;P

It's not that, I just don't know how to texture it as it are different maps compared to the planet maps :(

This is visually one of the best Rebellion mods available, but i've a question; will you be adding any compatability patches for things like Distant Stars or 4X as while the planet size and visuals are bloody amazing, I also enjoy the gameplay of those mods also.

Or is it already compatible, if so, ignore this post completely (well, bar the me saying it's excellent work thing)

Also stupid steam (of which im not normally a hater) autoupdated me today. Any idea when the 1.04 update might be rolling in?

Update for 1.04 will take a few weeks, I'm leaving on vacation for a week this Saturday, let's ssay a week or 2 to update it. Yeah I think 3 weeks might be a good estimate.

I'll be doing research on what is new in this version before I leave. :)

Hi! Cool looking mod. I've got the Steam copy of Sins: Rebellion and was hoping that someone could explain how to install it? There isn't a mod folder in the directory. I tried copying the files directly over Sins, which allowed the main Infinity Screen logo to come up but Sins crashes after that. Would appreciate some help, thank you.

First, undo the damage you've done to the core game.  (Might be easiest to just wipe the folder clean and reinstall the game.  Don't have Steam so I don't know if validating the install will work better or not)

Second, run the game and go to Options > Mods and click the button 'Show Mod Path'  You'll see an address pointing you to the location of your mods folder.  (Somewhere in the my games folder if I remember what's been said before.) The game will also create this mods folder if for whatever reason it failed to create it before.

Third, Put the Infinite Space mod in this mod folder.

Fourth, exit the game if you haven't already done so, and restart it.

Fifth, Go back to options > Mods and you should see the mod there.  Click on the mod and hit the enable button, and then click apply.  Failing to click apply means nothing will change.

Sixth, enjoy the mod.

Unfortunately none of this will work for him now, because if he is using the steam version (as I am) he will be dl the patch 1.04 version of the core game, with which the mod does not work currently :-(

Ahh, thanks StarFall, that explains why it was crashing lol. Well that sucks, thanks for the help anyway Stant.
