Enemy of the Vasari

The Vasari's Pursuers

Here is a Thread to discuss who the Vasari's Pursuers are.  Post any ideas you have, or things you have heard.  Maybe we will find out in Rebellion who they are.  Until then, Let's think.  If you have already posted an idea somewhere, then post it here too.  I shall bring all the ideas here, with your help.

I just love that the windows on the Akkan are larger than the windows on most frigates, suggesting that if it were to scale, it would be smaller than a Cobalt.  Conversely, the Evacuator's windows are practically pixels, as that thing really ought to be many times the size of any other capital.

Well a Radiance has a crew of some 2750 or something around that, while an Evacuator houses 20 000. It's a flying city with guns.

Did you make sure it was one window? Sometimes it's deceiving, what looks like one window turns into 3-4 when you get in really close.

Yes, I'm sure.  The windows on the Akkan are significantly larger than any other ship (so far as I know of anyways).

Possibly they have very very big windows, like one big glass pane that covers several floors, because it is, at its base, a civilian ship with added guns.

I've thought about that, but the way it looks, it really looks like individual floors.  Take a look at it yourself.  It looks about the size of a cruise liner.

It does, it looks pretty damn nice. I could think of a few ways, using imagination, to make it larger than it seems, but I'd have no actual proof to justify it like I do with the Radiance.

Oh wait, the hangar bay. Assuming all TEC ships have about the same sized hangar bays, since they are alll used to launch and recieve the same strike craft, we can use them to evaluate the size from another cap. Comparing the hangar bay from one ship to another should get you an approximate scale.

Except that hangar bays are going to be extremely relative.  The largest yachts aren't a whole lot smaller than aircraft carriers and while one has a helipad, the other is well, an aircraft carrier.

But the Helipads on both ( there are helipads on aircraft carriers, right? ) would be the same size.

This is wildly off-topic.

Indeed.

Unless....

...I think the enemy of the Vasari will be wild flying helipads. The Vasari, having never seen such a thing as a wild flying space helipad, have gone insane at the sight of it and shot each other to shreds.

Looking at the abilities of both of them and I don't see anything that stands out, course, I only can see the names and not the effects so...

It makes me sad that I have to rely on the wiki for this info. :(

axxo, is it an ability it has or is it on the ship itself. I spent about half an hour yesterday looking at the Vas rebel titan and I don't see it.

Quoting axxo2,

Can you be little more specific ?  :pout:

He means (I think) the artifact planet in one of the alternate game modes. It is guarded by a neutral (read: hostile) Vasari fleet which includes a Titan and a SB.

sorry if i posted this before

The vasari enemy as a new species - they where hidden until now even though the vasari controlled a massive empire and had clearly not encountered this enemy before so im guessing it will be explained that they are super advanced - come from another galaxy or come from phase space/alternate dimension or some race from future traveling back in time to wipe out vasai threat - there will be some plot point to explain it - I would love the idea of this new race - its entire civilisaion existing within a Dyson sphere. Would really show off how advanced this race is and explain why they where not encountered - something done in books and tv but to my knowledge not a game (due to size - oh wait there was a dyson sphere in freelancer)

Also im only saying this because id love the idea of an attack of a dyson sphere being the last map/mission in a campaign in sins2

There are mods for Sins that have Dyson Spheres, Dyson Clusters, etc in them already.

I'm more inclined to think that it's the race that made the PJI's simply because it started with the explosion of that lab on Kron.  They probably tried to unlock it's power, presuming that it would function as more than just a PJI if they could figure out how but somehow it's destruction notified it's creators that it was being reverse engineered and they couldn't have that.

Very interesting that it has actual phase cannons..  That said, the nanite swarm, is just a nanite swarm so far as I can tell, probably produced by their new capital ship, just as the Sova can create missile batteries.
