Looking for some friends to comp stomp with

Been playing this game in single player for a very long time since it's release and I'm currently playing against the Cruel AI mostly.  I don't consider myself good enough to really get into player vs player matches, so for now I'd like to stick to just learning more about how to dominate the AI.  If you are really good at this game (hopefully better than I am) then I'd love to learn more from you, so experienced players are preferred.  I can be on virtually any time of the day in CST, 9:00 AM to 11:00 PM, without much interruption.  If anyone is interested please let me know and how we can contact each other and get together, because I have never played this game in multiplayer before.

If you can beat the Cruel AI, then you're probably ready to advance to playing against human opponents.  At this point you probably understand all of the game mechanics and have a knowledge of all the races, tech trees, ships, and counters.  You'll get thumped for your first fifty games or so, but gaining experience against people is the only way to improve.  What you'll discover is that the AI has a very limited strategic and tactical ability regardless of what difficulty setting it's at.

As you play against people, you'll become an increasingly large pain-in-the-ass and eventually you'll be able to hold your own and even beat other players.  You'll also get to experience what it's like to play in a large team game (5 on 5) where additional team strategy elements come into play.  Sins online multiplayer is a lot of fun, so I hope that you can get into it.  If you start now you'll probably be a pro-level player by the time Rebellion comes out.

I would be willing to play some games, I haven't played much since last summer but we had a decent sized group going then and ran 3v3s at least on a weekly basis, alot of 1v1s or 2v2s in between. The group kinda fell apart though so I haven't played since. I was one if the better players out of the group and would be willing to show you the basics of multiplayer but i warn you that once you do you will never play singleplayer again....

PS. I don't mean to come across like some sort of expert. We all played pretty casually (but aggressively) and undoubtedly wouldn't be able to beat the better players in this game. Also I PM"d some details.

That's strange. I don't have anything in my inbox.  Are you sure you sent it to the right guy?
