Need math help: What do you do when both sides of the equation are the same?

I got three options:

All real numbers

No solution

The third solution is finding what x is which isnt possible.

So you've got something like x=x?

It's a tautology (formula which is always true); x is still unknown.

Why is this in PC Gaming?

Well, based on the content of the OP, I'd say it's because JCD simply has a problem with all three R's (Read'n, rite'n, rithmatic). }:)

I accidentally put this thread under PC Gaming? I give a fuck?

It was a really simple question which you all failed to answer:

All real numbers

[or]

No solution

Thanks for nothing guys. The window has long been closed.

Entitled much?

Seriously.  Looking at your posting history it's a wonder anyone bothers to even try to help you.

A modicum of humility and general respect would serve you well it seems.......

The guy in the first response gave you the answer.  If you had spent 5 seconds learning what a tautology was, you would have not only learned something, but also been able to get your answer in less time than it took you to write a whiny post.

Idk why we even respond to this guy anymore...

Alternatively you could combine the two sides and have that equal to zero. (but you would have to mirror one of the sides, as far as sign goes).

Then, assuming that not everything cancels each other out, then they weren't truly 'equal' and the remainder is what you were trying to find.

OK, lets settle the whole thing regarding the equation.   Just divide both sides by zero!   LOL.
