Advent Titan pictures look "meh"

Advent Titan pictures look "meh"

They don't look particularly cool or interesting, more like a floating vagina/womb in space minus the ovaries.  Advent aren't related to the anime series Gundam Wing. So, if that ugly vaguely humanoid design is anything other then early drafts of the advent titan there will be a bored sigh following rebellions release.  A cool looking flying saucer/oldschool cylon base star mix would look about 100 times better then anything the developers have shown us regarding advent titans.  A sphere with glowing hull lines would also similarly keep my interest as the other advent titan.  Hopefully they will just change the designs, but I figure it to be too late.

But its all moot anyways right? the TEC will just be able to turtle forever, the vasari will be able to relocate wherever they darn well feel like it having no empire weaknesses, and the advent might be able to take over a planet...whatever that means.  Advent titan should have a blanket "mind control" ability that would over time mind control ANYTHING.  By anything i mean planets, titans, starbases, anything.  As the titan levels up it increases the amount of things that it can keep mind controlled.  This would be through the use of culture, which the titan would also emit.  This would be a fun way to play advent end game, and really give those advent super "weapons" a really nice combo so that they might actually be built for combat, instead of lols.  It wouldn't be overpowered, as the other races have very strong abilities as well.  I like the idea of this ability as I have outlined it, because it means that no matter the situation, the advent titan will ALWAYS strike fear into your opponents heart, even if it looks like a vagina/womb.

Edit: okay okay, that advent titan DOES have the ovaries.

Yet another person who doesn't really use their brain to process anything. A three year old with my reading comprehension and writing skills would be quite amazing indeed. I would say the person responding doesn't understand that i'm going to buy like 4 copies of rebellion when it comes out, and fails to see any connection on how threads like these help generate forum activity.

At least i don't spend hours on a stupid post writing paragraph after paragraph on something that cant and wont be changed and obviously your bias because you think that because that titan doesn't meet YOUR expectations that rebellion will fail...... plus if you want some kind of result instead of whining about make a poll on the titans

In my opinion, that Advent Titan that sareth wasted so much of his and our time bitching about, is the best looking one I've seen.

While I do agree that some of the Advent ships are rather poor in design (Revelation, Progenitor, Destra, Talion, Missionary), some are in the middleground (Disciple, Illuminator, Purge, Aeria), most of the rest are outstanding, in my humble opinion (Radiance, Halcyon, Rapture, Transcencia, Beam Platform, Iconus, Domina).

Also in my opinion, its that second Advent Titan you have to worry about, and that oversized fighter of the Vasari.

There are many who will disagree with me. I know. Among them is sareth. What is my point?

Ask yourself: Would these models have been put in the game without StarClad thoroughly looking over them first? Obvious answer: No. LucasArts or EA: Yes, probably, but StarClad isn't like that. They actually check their work. And although they swung and missed with a few things, they're not game-breaking, and they usually come right back and fix them. As for misses on designs, well, again, they're not game-breaking, and I don't see many rant threads about how poorly designed ship models are, so they must've done something right.

i think, most people do not care that much, thats why there are no rant threads. In the end, its a matter of personal taste, some people with some kind of design background may be more qualified to judge, bur ultimately, its just their opinion, nothing more. Thats why its almost pointless to talk about it, no consensus is going to be reached about this...ever

This really all comes down to personal taste, and also the game developers. Let them make the ships how they want there's always going to be people who like them and don't like them. I for one really do like the design of the Revelation and Progenitor! But I respect other people's opinions, they just aren't going to change my own.

Heh, having this one rant thread is probably all you will ever see, I am pretty much the main advent player and probably the only one who gives a crap about this race for competitive play.  If I don't speak up, no one will.  Why? because they mainly play TEC/Vasari and will only see the advent titan as a target.  I'm a one man propaganda factory working for a minority for a lost cause.  Its been a lot of fun :)

Bullshit sareth. Your arrogance blinds you-there's over 1 million sin players and over 100s in the forum where some have fought and campaigned for advent buffs and successfully got some. Your really silly and are conflicted and very amusing how you will now attempt to bounce back and try to explain what you said in a more idiotic way as you play the denial card.

I was going to say what RiddleKing said in a nicer way, but then I took an arrow to the knee.

But yes, you are not the only one who plays Advent in this game. I play Advent some. Just not on ICO. But you're probably going to come back and tell me that my opinion is invalid because of that.

Look at it this way... Maybe... just maybe... maybe somehow, in sheer defiance of everything the will of the Lord stands for...

Maybe you're WRONG. :dog:

lol... JA

Anyway-closer shot: Looks like a bigger version of the revelation:

On the new gamespy article they speak of an advent titan that takes control of an entire hostile planet so I'm guessing its this one since its in a fleet mostly composed of siege units.

Uhm I am pretty sure the Advent titans are pretty close to Advent design. They are sleek, have curves, and have a mystical feeling about them. OP you crazy.

I agree. The advent titans fit the look fine. It's also in line with the previous advent Envoy. There's really only one ship I don't like in the advent fleet, the radiance.

Though, I'm curious about the new advent capital ship and what influenced it's design. Frankly I like it, the new titans and the envoy and would rather see the current advent capital ships like the Radiance, Rapture and Revelation more to this style. Though I still think advent has the best looking ships in the game.

More briefly, Fraser touched on the Advent and Vasari factions. The Advent Loyalists are on a vengeful rampage and use their psychic abilities to their fullest to assimilate :borg: enemy ships. Their planets automatically spread culture without the need to build structures, and their Titan can mind-control an entire planet, permanently taking it over. The Advent Rebels, who suspect that their collective consciousness has been corrupted, have the ability to resurrect destroyed enemy ships as their own, and their Titan can consume other friendly ships to keep itself alive.

I like the Advent ships.  I think the Advent Titan fits the Advent design philosophy very well, especially with the Advent's siege cap.

That's my two bits.

For the Unity!

I sometimes play Advent too.

I think we have a new meme growing

As for the titan itself i'm reserving judgement until till i see it's counterpart. it hasn't been confirmed if this is the loyal or rebel. As for this one it looks like the Revelations big brother, and you don't mess with bigger brothers

Once you've been put into an Advent re-education camp, we'll see what your attitude towards their designs are.

i jut noticed something, this advsent titan is smaller then the TEC's, i mean it may be taller then them but over all mass it is dwarfed, probably just bigger then a starbase

I think its size won't matter- its a planet killer (takes control of hostile planets and then you build repair platforms in a gravity well to repair it-assuming they could repair titans).

IMHO that advent titan looks like a scaled up revelation battlecruiser. So fits fine.

The Advent carrier is the silliest looking ship in game. imho.

The main reason I gravitated to Mods was I started to hate the vanilla Sins models.

I think both the Advent titans look pretty good (at least what we can see of them through the menus at the start screen). The second one, the non-halo looking one, seems a little fragile perhaps, and it may have been nice if their titans were a little more diverse and not both so vertical, but no major gripes from me. Seeing how the abilities cause cool huge glowing particle effects all over the TEC titans I can only imagine what the Advent's will look like in combat.

The only ship I am a little disappointed in is the Akkan still. I was really hoping they could have given it's model a facelift. I know that they are/were originally converted luxury liners, but their bland-ness has always bothered me. And with the war having been going on for ages now I was hoping the TEC could have upgraded them. Their only defining feature are those little ecodomes on the top, would have been nice to see that theme pushed further (towards something more like the Cygnus from the Black Hole perhaps). Anything to make the ship more easly recognizeable from a distance and not just "that plain one".

I love the new Rebel Advent Titan design.
