WHAT!!!!!!!!! OK I am new to StarDocks But

from Stardock Forums

I bought ObjectDocks the other day and thought I was getting ObjectDesktop  MY MISTAKE!!! MY FAULT!!  So then I went back yesterday and bought ObjectDesktops to get what I thought I was getting in the first place and then when I go to the download page it said ObjectDesktop expires in 2013 ???

Do upgrades stop or does the whole program just quit working?  If the whole program expires will someone please show me where on the website it says when buying that you are buying the use of the software for 1 year?

You always have what you paid for. You only get upDATES/upgrades for one year.

 

UpGRADES are not the same as updates.

The expiration date is for new apps and upgrades to Object Desktop.  You will still have a license to the products you would have now beyond that date just not the versions and new programs that are yet to be developed.

OK, So what I bought I have to use forever but I only get updates for one year. Is that correct?

Yep updates and any new programs that are released as a part of Object Desktop you will receive for that 1 year.

After one year if you don't renew it's your responsibility to make sure you have the most updated programs and serials before the year has expired. You may also wish to save them somewhere safe as you won't be able to download after your sub runs out. Like everyone said if you have done that you can always use them just woithout updates.

yes thanks I understand now, I will set my calendar to go and download the newest version as close my expiration date as I can so I ahve the latest version before my updates expire. Of course if I chose to pay for another year that will not be a issue.

Nope.  Also, if you choose not to renew right away and your sub expires, you can renew at the discounted price any time (even years later).

just so you know you can renew right now and it's only $24.95 well was Thursday 9th when I did

so Example

Mine will expire 2- 10 - 2013  if I get a renewal today then it will expire 2 - 10 -2014  

  so in other words Renewals stack on top of each other..

which is a GOOD thing

Yes, that way you can choose to install only what you want at any one time, then later check out the other programs and decide if you want to use them. I find that better than a all in way of installation as you end up with a whole lot of stuff you will never use. At a guess i would say the ones to install first are, Windowblinds 7, Iconpackager, Soundpackager, desktopX, Fences and/or objectdock plus. Also can i suggest the free version of CursorFX, You may even want to upgrade to the plus version once you see it but there is a free version. Have fun customizing mate :)

I'm not sure all the programs you listed work on Windows 7. If anyone know please help. As far as Theme Manager and again I may be wrong. There is a new one being worked on and will be out soon. You may want to wait till it's available.

+1 You might as well give  CFX a place on your desktop. Why settle for a plain old cursor? There are a lot of very talented cursor makers here at WC.  Make your desktop complete. ;)

eaglepi, also please be sure to retain the latest Final (non-beta) releases in addition to the betas.  You'll need the Final non-betas if you ever need to totally re-install.
