[Question] Anyone know if there is a limit on number of rings/necklaces you can equip on one champion?

Back in my version 0.75 game, I was equipping my main Champion with multiple rings, necklaces, and other miscellaneous items like the compass. Anyone know if their is a limit to equipping them?

no limit except only 1 of each kind.

Why should there be a limit

Why do you think Mr.T was so strong?

Damnit you beat me to the Mr. T joke! There should 'probably' be a limit, but it's not really a pressing issue right now.

It's pretty damn pressing, since no matter the balance you can create an ubergod with infinite items.

Thats assuming you find any good ones. The ones you gain via the tech tree are pretty ho hum. So you would need to find a lot of good rings etc before thats an issue.

I personally haven't come across more than 3 or 4 random loot rings per game. So unless your gonna limit it low to like 2 rings and 1 necklace etc it wouldn't make a difference in most games. (both of which are just arbitrary since a person can easily wear far more)

By the time I found more then 1 or 2 rings I had an ubergod melee sov who didn't really benefit all that much from that +3 to <stat> rings.

Limiting ring count will be annoying and not make a dent in game balance.

You take the 2 feats that give +level to int/str. A full suit of champion gear (+level to <stat> per gear +big base value bonus) + the bonuses from just being a higher level and the lack of a limit on how many simultaneous items you can equip matters little.

It matters a lot later in the game. Any mechanic that allows you to load 10-20 extra of every stat into a single character needs to be changed.

its not 10-20. its 3 per stat. And by the time you get all of them they are a tiny tiny boost. The rate of acquisition is slow enough that they are an ever smaller and less relevant aspect of your character.

There are only so many rings/charms and all of them give a static small bonus that is largely irrelevant in end game. (and too rare an item to matter in early game... coupled with level limits on their usage)

If you want to nerf something nerf all the +stat per level abilities and bonuses from levelup in general. My level 38 sov has some stats in the triple digits and the rings make up less then 5% of that despite having every single one.

You can get more than 3 by wearing more than 1 item. There are multiple items that boost the same stat. Ex band of might + band of the berserker  = 8 str.

But again your ignoring the fact that in a normal game the chances of you getting both are rather slim. As i'm sure you know there are different rarity settings for each item. The extremely rare ones you may not see in 10 or 20 full play throughs.

While those 2 particular rings aren't that rare. +8 str -3 dex isn't really game breaking, and those are the only 2 rings that raise Str... so limiting it to 2 rings per char wouldn't change that. +8 isn't the same as +20...

Now a chance for a champ to lose items when he dies I would go for. That was stacking everyone on one champ could potentially be catastrophic.

First, already +8str is gamebreaking. Then there's books. And I'm telling you, in the long games, you get most of these random accessory items. If you want to set a limit to say 5 or 6 items, then you won't see the limit in your short games. But I get 25 items in one inventory and I equip most. And that turns a strong character into an ubergod.

How are you getting so many items.. I play on epic and rarely see that many in a full game..

Edit: I'm guessing you jack up the number of quests etc in your games.

+8 is not game breaking at all.. espcially in the late game.

Books are 1 time use items. If your equipping them then they are bugged.

Also there are only 4 Acessories that increase the str stat. A Book those 2 rings Plus a potion which gives a +.

So the max you can get in + to str due to accessories is actually 11. From equipable accessories the max is 8.

It's all about chasing goodiehuts in the beginning of the game, and quests in mid- and late-game.

No it isn't, it is trivial, especially when combined with the penalty it gives to dex which is far more valuable then str.

I soloed the game with my sov twice now in a row. In both cases I was loaded with goodies. In both cases I got a ton of levels and my +level to stat items and feats broke the game.

my stats were hovering around 100. +10 to stats from ring is trivial at that point... and I have never seen a +8 ring.

Ok, I am getting tired of seeing the same argument repeated again and again (the "limit jewlery its broken" argument appeared in other threads too).

Jewlery limits are irrelevant and will not help any!

Here is my sov after soloing the whole map with jewlry on

I'm fine with current system, but then I *like* strong heroes.  They're the reason I want games like this instead of historical theme games.
