Adding to the right side of the start menu

Anybody know how to do this?

Does anybody know how to add to the right side of the start menu. Like where the "Pictures, Documents" etc. links are?

I want to add my dropbox folder to it so I don't have to open up windows explorer and navigate to it.    ;)

Thanks in advance...

It would be easier to just add Dropbox to the LEFT side of your start menu by using the pin to start menu option. The right side is a bit different. You can right click an item on the start menu, choose properties, and then click customize and see if you can do anything from there. Not all the items on the right of the start menu give you that option, but some do.

Also, right click the taskbar, choose properties, start menu tab, customize: That's the only ways I know of to mess with the start menu........ Hope it helps:)

Maybe someone with more knowledge has a better idea? B[]

You can create your own direct link by placing your shortcut here :

User > AppData > Roaming > Microsoft > Windows > Start Menu > Programs

or this :

User > AppData > Roaming > Microsoft > Internet Explorer > Quick Launch > User Pinned > Start Menu

Hope this helps :sun:         -- Ace --

edit : you will have to make sure you have "show hidden files & Folders" enabled in your folder options settings.

You're welcome Boxxi,

An important point that I failed to mention in the above directions is the fact that if you are creating a shortcut for any kind of "document" file access from the "Start Menu" you will have to use my tutorial from here :     https://forums.wincustomize.com/415238   to create a working shortcut that will be visible in the "start menu"  For example,  I wanted to create a shorcut from the start menu to a storage folder on another hard drive on my rig.  The target path to that folder looked like this ;        Target =  "E:\Storage"      Start in = E:\

If you don't custom create that shortcut according to my tutorial, it sometimes is not visible in the start menu. It's just something you have to play around with if your shorcut isn't showing up where you want it.

Now that you mention it, I think I used your tutorial when you first posted it, to put my "Downloads" folder on the start menu, I just forgot about it!!

Thanks again buddy! B[]
