Is IE8 or IE9 working and online?

What update(s) were installed on the 7th? Have you tried unistalling that update then running Windows Update?

Yes Ie9 works and goes online

I fixed the original post The last successful "check for updates" was on the 7th

last update was 12/31/2011 there were 2 updates that were both for .net

1 for .net 3.5.1

and .net 4

Uninstall them, reboot and try running updates again. It wouldn't be the first time .NET updates screwed things up.

Did it tell you what the problem was?
