Philly's Out of the Hospital

Appendicitis can kill you

Well, when Philly decides to do it, he does it right. He's given me permission to reveal what happened (I have to say that).

He's at home resting now, but over the past week, he's been a sick puppy. Seems he developed appendicitis, and while he was hospitalized, it decided to go "pop!".

Wish I had a pic of him to 'shop' with a 'hose up the nose'... but no luck.  ;P

Seriously, this kind of thing can 'dispatch' one... so we're lucky to have the old coot around.

So leave the old goat a "Get well Philly"... ok?

Here's the humble room he "occupied":

Euphemism translation:

"Sound absorbing materials" = Your agonized screaming will not be heard, so don't bother.

"Less walking" = They amputated both legs. So what you were admitted for pneumonia?

"Natural lighting" = Do all your reading during the daytime. We're too cheap to spend money on light bulbs. "Candles not included."

"Patient lifts" = Well, you don't expect us to do that, do you?

"View our new patient room" = You didn't really think your room looked like this, did you? You get the old one. Here's your room:

And stop whining about "Where's my bed?

Thanks folks and Doc.  :sun:

Take the video tour, brand new hospital, open less then three months.  http://www.phs.org/PHS/RioRancho/index.htm

If Doc thinks I'm giving him a photo to shop.............

Like I said to Doc, our health care isn't broken, we just need to remember it's managed health care and we are the managers.

I wish that were true. I really do.

Get well quickly (and thoroughly) John, so we can discuss that. Daiwa's invited as well.

I had my appendix out 20 something years ago... was an 8 1/2 hour procedure due to complications... apparently something got caught up in there and it turned gangrenous

Still, 10 mins after waking from the anaesthetic, I was getting dressed to go home.... after spending 3 years in hospital with multiple fractures some 10 years earlier, I wasn't spending a minute longer in that hospital than I had to.  Didn't get my way, though. Bastards!!!  They did some tests and insisted I wait a day or two for the results.

Anyhow, Philly, you're obviously on the mend to be at home, so here's hoping your recovery is swift and complete. :sun:
