Well her hubby was tapping many...many, women without her having a clue. that alone perhaps tells us all we need to know about her.

How about looking at it from a different perspective instead of just beating her up over it.  He cheated on her, so she has every right to be pissed off and destroy something they owned.

Out of that anger and destruction you lose a home that could be sold or auctioned or donated or what ever...  Big deal...

The flip side of that coin is while that home would have been good for one family to enjoy, and let's be honest here, it's not going to the average person, it would only go to someone already wealth and not in need of help or donations...  Destroying it means that not only are demolition crews getting paid, but so are clean up crews, and so will construction crews (plumbers, electricians, drywallers, painters, carpenters, carpeters, framers, insulation installers, masons, tilers, etc.) when something new is built, also add in the money being paid to the suppliers of all of the new materials going into the home and their people working the counters and doing the deliveries of said supplies.  Plus all of the utility workers who got paid to come out and turn off all of the individual utilities before the demolition and who will get paid to come back out to turn them back on during construction, and the city planner who gets to issue the permits after looking over the designs, as well as the city inspectors who have to come out and verify everything is being built to code repeatedly.  All of these things happen for months to years.

By wrecking the place, many more people are working and being helped out with paychecks then what a far below market value donation or auction could have brought in.  Good for her.

I agree with Stant123 but ....... I'm pretty sure all of that was nowhere near what she had in mind at the time. She was pissed and got even. Nuff said.

I don't think I've ever read such tripe on this forum in 7 years........

many people buy a property for the land and bulldoze the house to build to their taste and needs.... and the bonus being... circulating money back into the economy.....

the incredible, prolonged and public humiliation Elin was put through by that overinflated egotistical prick who didn't have the smarts to keep it zipped was amazing.... she deserved every penny she got.... and she can spend it how she damn well pleases....

I'm sure she'd have preferred to still be married to the man she thought she married.... and still have a stable family and live-in Dad for her young family.... but he made that impossible.... he's a loser.... no matter how he swings a golf club....

Twelve million dollars is twelve million dollars. Sure she would have sold it to a rich guy, but hey if she felt really hurt she could have donated to women's education groups or something that might make a difference. Sure she can do it, but I hope she comes to regret the decision someday, when her head is a bit clearer.

lord....what are you people on...... she bought the house....after the divorce....a great piece of land....ocean views.....wants the house to reflect herself....it's within 10 miles of Tiger so he can still be involved with the young kids.....it is nothing to do with hurt...or spite....or the such.... she just wants to build her own bloody house....  X-(

I love how everyone is blaming Tiger for this.  Moral ambiguity folks.  He made a decision, so what.  It cost him a marriage.  He can still see his children, be in there lives.  Has anyone taken a look to see if maybe she was the problem?  It takes two to tango, and if he is looking else where, then maybe she isn't doing her duty.

Now don't get me wrong, not taking his side, infidelity is an awful thing, but if either person is looking outside, then something is a miss inside.

Also, evolution has a play here, while not an excuse in "civilized" society, still needs to be mentioned.  He became wealthy from his talent, was on top of the world, so he went out and found multiple partners to spread the "seed."

Look folks, so what if she demolished a house.  Frankly, I find her decision appalling, such material could go to groups that need renovation to there homes that can't afford it.  Such a waste.  The rich never appreciate what they have.

And to the poster of the original news, shame on you.  Celebrities don't need more media time, they need less.  We as a species need to be focused on our collective future, not the nonsense of a few ignorant rich folks with too much time and too much money.

Who'd have thought clarke had it in him!!!

I thought Tendulkar was on track to get it at the SCG, and i nearly laughed when pup put himself on to have a crack. Shows what i know i guess. Will be interesting to see how the pitch behaves at the WACA, since i think if its a seemers delight, then hilfy and pattinson might be in for a good day.

Id never count out Sachin though, id really like for him to get his 100th 100, just not against us!

"duty"?

You're kidding, right?

then maybe she isn't doing her duty.

Must say I agree with Jafo.

What a bizarre way to look at something which is either more than consensual or not worth bothering with.

Did you consider she might well have known about his crap and decided not to risk her life?

Also, why keep a monument to something which deserves no memorial?

"Duty" was the wrong word, but you guys got the gist of it.  If the sex isn't there, tends to help with the separation.

If the sex isn't there, tends to help with the separation.

And if it's somewhere else, it helps even faster.

If you have a problem with your partner you sort it out or separate, you don't go around screwing everything you can because you can ... what a very 'male' view on the problem they went through ... she could be the problem because she didn't put out. You are kidding!

It appears my meaning got distorted by the wording (last time i do philosophical thinking and sharing drunk ;) ).  Yes, the fault falls to him, not having the courage to end the relationship.  At the same time, if the warning signs are popping up and she isn't taking steps to resolve them, then her lack of action brings her some fault as well.

Also, its hard to convey sarcasm via forums, will try to not do that in the future as well. HERP

Too right.

No one in the media has even tried to suggest it was one hair's worth her fault. So just drop it.

/sarcasm  ;)

Me, I just think he was a spoilt kid who always got everything he ever wanted ... I just wish the media will talk about who is on the top of golfing match (world) and stop talking about how tiger is (not) going. That and I hate golf ...

The only thing Woods did right was be so damn good at the game that the [clearly] KKK-loving US PGA had to let him in.
