Having a lil trouble

I am obviously new to all of this, I downloaded stardock's theme manager first then as I tried to apply the suites it directed me to install windowblinds so I attempted this several times, the program downlaoded but as the install wizard began it got as far as 31% and then stopped responding...

Any Ideas on this?

Try disabling your antivirus; possibly try shutting down all other programs when trying to install. Possibly try rebooting then trying again

First, welcome to the community, always nice to see new folks.

First off I would leave using Theme Manager to later, hasn't been updated in a while and has some bugs.

What version of WindowBlinds are you trying to download, the Trial of full version?  Where are you downloading from?  You may have just gotten a bad download.

Thanks for the Welcome Philly,

I actually don't have the theme manager installed anymore after all the hang-ups last night I uninstalled it since I could do nothing with it that I could find without windowblinds and some of the other programs that I hadn't gotten to just yet, as far as windowblinds is concerned I am downloading the trail version for now just wanted to explore before I invested into it, the download came fro cnet, com

I have yet to try the suggestion of Mirsguy but as soon as I post this I will give it a shot...

Also to Philly how can I use this software w/o theme manager, is there another program that I can use on a trial basis that will allow me to customize my desktop theme?

Theme Manager was originaly set up to be a 'One Click' download and apply the skins type of program.  As I said it has bugs.

Each individual program will apply it's skin.  As in the case of WindowBlinds, it will apply the WindowBlinds skins you download.

Use a clean up program and make sure you have nothing of the trial WBs on your system, reboot and try again.

Theme Manager is just a composite front end for multiple programs. You don't need it at all, it's just a convenience (when it works properly) or a head ache when it doesn't. :)

Stardock has a trial version for all it's software. They are either time-limited or function-limited depending on the individual program. I recommend WindowBlinds as the first, most important, program to get setup. it's the foundation of a full theme.  After that you can add other programs for other parts of the thrme such as DeskScapes ( a personal favorite) that allows animated wallpapers, Icone Packager to change all your icons at one time, and CursorFX to use some amazing cursors.

ObjectDock is also amazing from a functional and customization stand point. And Fences will become a must-use piece of software once you see what it can do.

As for your WB problem, I'd recommend uninstall WB, reboot your computer, download the trial from stardock's site, and reinstall from there. You can grab it from here: https://www.stardock.com/products/windowblinds/

and here is a link to all their software: https://www.stardock.com/products/

welcome to the community. Hope this was helpful.

It should be noted that for the Trial Version of WindowBlinds going to the Stardock site will redirect you to C/net for the download.  :sun:

Thanks guys for all the help!! I finally got a download that worked properly, I also installed Icon packager but it keeps saying that it didn't install correctly even though it shows up, the only thing I have noticed with it is that it doesn't show any of the packages I have downloaded..

On another note is there any other programs that I should download for wallpapers, logons, and sounds...

Again thanks for all the help!!

If you want it all, get ObjectDesktop.

https://www.stardock.com/products/odnt/index.asp

LogonStudio, a Log on editing program, is included, as is SoundPackager for editing Windows sounds. ObjectDesktop is currently selling for $50. It is well worth it!

Okay I think I pretty much got it, bit I am having a problem with the Icon packager program, I have downloaded a couple packages that are .zip files and they don't add to the Icon packager program, I can imagine that this could possibly be a bug but if not any ideas on that...

I'm not sure but I think the trial version of Icon Packager just allows you to use the included themes it did include some themes right?
