Might and Magic VI is a crappier Disciples III
So I just got Magic VI after avoiding the title for awhile. I have found it to mostly be a cheap, less immersive version of Disciples III, which is a much better game.
It has a perfectly logical Tactical AI using a hex tile, whereas Magic VI used a square tile system that is constantly cheesed.
Disciples has much better graphics and art design, unit variety and advancement, hero mechanics, and music and dialog. Might and Magic spelled Svetlana wrong.
There is nothing wrong with coming out with an inferior game, especially if that game was the inspiration for Disciples, but my real worry is that both of these games have terrible strategic AI. The enemy really doesn't seem to be able to compete like it could in the older versions of these games. Isn't this supposed to be the easier AI to program? Why is it so hard for the AI to level and conquer territory? The real challenge is getting through the throngs of stationary neutral guards one finds next to treasure troves. This can't be right.
