Yet another suggestions for titans

another idea from a madman at 7DS

 

What we'd like (that some of you just might hate... )

A new Titan shipyard, not attached to either the capital shipyard or starbase, and it's own entries in the player file which means another build icon/page -which means hopefully multiple titans for us modders.   Something like this -and all its ramifications.

If we had a titan shipyard for 7DS, it'd require a tier 4 research item costing 2 times as much as a capital shipyard for the prototype, then 2x the cost of a capital shipyard to actually build the structure.  Logistic cost would be 12 to 18 slots -basically the world is dedicated to building a titan -not much room for anything else.

I've gone on about titan class, titan armor... meh... ignore that rubbish.  Keep things simple.

Keep them capitalship class armor and weapons, but look into "Titan" class weapons perhaps.  Doubles the types of weapons -standard for non-capitals and capitals like we have now, but also those for Titans.  This means research can specifically upgrade "TitanAutoCannon", "TitanBeam", "TitanFlashbeam", etc... without affecting weapons used by the non-titan vessels.  Just as antimodule weapons were introduced and given their own entries in the DamagePercentBonus area, so to could this new weapon class.

Or at least in the sense that IC needs to do something relatively similar.  Giant axial guns that blow up everything makeme really happy.

Expensive, slow, and does a lot of damage... and it's the best we are able to do with SINS at the moment.

Won't work Annatar, SOASE doesn't support mesh animation/motion or we'd have made the Executor turn into MegaMaid from Spaceballs.  Also, Voltron had a storyline -a campaign, which SINS also lacks and will never have.

In fact, it is possible, via chain particle effect who use a mesh for each piece... it is not simple but it is possible...

By example, something like the pic below is possible :

Will have a .mesh for the main body and 4 .mesh for the moving wings ( 2 section for each side )... for the animation, it is simply a question of rotation axis position, angular speed and upper/lower angle limits...

It is not a easy way but it don't make it impossible...

That's why we care more about what the real titans can do than the ones in 7DS. You could just ask for the features you wanted without the giant plug for your mod.

Whose else should I? 

Read the part below "What we'd like (that some of you just might hate... )"because that's exactly what I do.  Comment on that stuff if you don't give rip one about what we've worked out for ourselves.

I'll be honest guys, I'm sure your mod is dope and all...

But I'd really rather not have IC spend time validating your epeens by copying your mod. It'd be better if they just followed their own direction and did what they feel the game needs - being the creators/designers and all.

Plus, shameless plugs make me hostile. :ninja:
