HP Touchpad

Anyone have tips?

I just got an HP Touchpad. I was wondering if anyone else here has one, and if so, any tips or tricks?

I hope someone actually figures out a way to install Android Honeycomb. In the mean time, how cool is it? Is it easy to use for movies and music? I would like to see what current apps there are for it.

If I understand correctly, even then, the quantity will be very limited. $99.00 is better than $230.00, but then $230.00 is better than $499.00.

Financially, for me, it was now or risk missing out altogether. I have been playing with eReaders and so called tablets too long. I really like this one.

I know a guy at a local Aaron's store, the manager, who claims he has android on his Touchpad.

I am happy with the performance of WebOS, for now, but I do wish there were more/better apps.

I don't have an i-anything.

I had a HP scanner once.

It couldn't understand what XP was....so it died.

Yeah, I've had a few bad HP PCs. I still have 3 Compaq PCs, which are essentially HPs. I'll never buy another HP lappy.

I'll reserve judgement on the Touchpad, for now. I'll have to play with it a few days to see what I really think of it.

Not so....

Just a minor update:

HP TouchPad Now Supports Android

http://news.cnet.com/8301-1023_3-20102677-93/hp-touchpad-screen-can-now-support-android/

So, even if WebOS totally fails, which it won't, there's an alternative OS for the TouchPad.

Sweet!!!    I can't get the Touchpad to work with my printer. Apparently, it only works with HP printers.  For now.  :'(

Yeah, tried that Hank. Thanks, though. It would seem that either my printer isn't compatible, and it is with Android, or that HP's app only supports HP printers. :annoyed:

The latter is the case, I think.             :'(

Damn emotes.  :annoyed:

Tried again, it tells me that my printer is not currently supported....bummer.

I'm sure folks'll be writing apps like crazy, Jim. Not to worry.

I found Image Worker, and Image Worker Pro that will print images. Good....now for text.

Edit: No, it printed a bunch of symbols and letters. Not the image.   Crap.

The HP EliteBook I had was the best Notebook I ever had. It by far out performed my desktop that has higher specs. Like a fool I went and sold it because I wanted a tablet. I have not got one yet but will make the purchase soon.

Anyone know why I can't login at WC on my Touchpad?

We told it not to let you in.

Truth? In the browser's configuration, if there's an option to configure as desktop, choose that.

Might be because the logon app code doesn't recognize webos. In fact, I'd bet on it. Same prob with some browsers

and iPad.

You need a browser that can emulate ie or ff. I don't know if such a thing exists for your Touch Pad.

Universe browser review here:  http://www.webosroundup.com/2011/04/review-universe-web-browser-top-pick/

Cost is $2.99 . Can't promise it'll let you log on, or how it'll look on the touchpad.... Check out the return policy.

Sorry, Jim.

You could try looking in the WebOS app store... for the Advanced browser or other browsers...

It allows me to login at other sites. Like DeviantArt, for one. I'll try Maxstyles.
