How to downgrade version with archive?

The question says it all. Right now the game is version 1.31. I have archived version 1.21 from my other computer but I am not sure how to downgrade the game on this computer. Thanks

You cant really.

Some people a multiple versions installed to be able to play older mods though.

In my Program Files\Stardock folder I have 3 versions. The up-to-date versions folder stays the same but I create another folder named Sins of a Solar Empire 1.21 and copy all the files to that folder then update the original folder. You might be able to copy the game folder from the 1.21 computer and add it to the other computer then make new shortcuts.

Alright thanks. I read somewhere that you could use the archive to downgrade. As far as you know, you can't do this?

Ohh sorry, I never tried that with archives. Please wait for another response. It will probably overwrite the game you have if you do, not sure.

Are the computers on a network with file and folder sharing?

Alright. I've never set up any kind of file and folder sharing setup so I doubt it. Are you suggesting transferring the files over the network? I have a flashdrive that can fit the whole ~11Gb so it won't be a problem

I thought it was just a simple matter of uninstalling Sins, copying the archive to your computer then using Impulse's install from archive feature.

I tried restoring the archive through Impulse but it always errors out. Is this possibly b/c it's from another computer and/or another account? Would it have that information on the archive itself? And if so, would it not explain this to me instead of simply saying, "could not recover archive" ?

Is the archive on the computer you want it installed on yet? Impulse is probably looking for the archive where you saved it and it will need to find it on the new computer.

Second option is what I stated before, copy the entire game install folder from Program Files\Stardock and put the folder on the other computer and have 2 versions of Sins.

If it's from a different Impulse account, I do believe that won't work, no.

Alright, I'm just going to do what myfist suggested and copy the game from my other computer. I'm just wondering if it will still access the same directory for mods

It should. Just click on the show path button when you are done loading to be sure though.
