Theater of the Mind

Hi all -

I'm going offline tomorrow because I'm moving to Oklahoma, and in case I become a highway fatality (I know, I'm so morbid lately), I wanted to provide a sneak preview of my latest WIP, Theater of the Mind.

They're animated, so I kind of hate to mess with them at this point, but I respect your opinion and will see what I can do.

Thanks for wishing me luck on the trip.  I'm actually looking forward to living in Tulsa, as I have friends there, and I'll have a social life, which might do wonders for my mental health.

All I will need now is some popcorn and some gum stuck to the bottom of my chair to get the "feel" right.

you forgot the jaffas....

though probably you don't have them over there....   :|       hard shelled li'l sweets that used to roll nice and noisily down the wooden floored aisles of the old theatres.... a must have...

Finally got the internet up and running.  So much to do.  We had lots of help packing, but once we got here, able bodies who said they would be glad to help unpack suddenly quit answering their phones.  I got a little help from a friend I met online at another site (she bought food, brought over cleaning supplies and helped us unpack the beds and a few boxes).  Later that night I twisted my ankle in the driveway, so now I'm hobbling around and can't do much of anything.  This skin is taking a back seat to oh so much right now -- I MIGHT have it finished in time for Christmas.

So you survived the drive but the unpacking is what will do you in.  :O

So glad to hear that you made it there okay.  :sun:

Have a safe trip and wish you well on your next chapter! New starts are scary but exciting at that same time!

Oh noez... not "curtains" for the blind?! ;)

moving sucks... but at least you have a new friend! That's a good thing.

Foot in warm water and alphabets (lower case first) then upper case in 7-10 days. First ice it for 48 hrs.

S'pose I could get used to it if the wallpaper was a capture of Oklahoma the musical.   Hehe,

Nah, it looks great, not to mention original.  Since the advent of Vista, many WB's have been rather simplistic and missing the extra flair that brings originality to the desktop, but this brings it back, and with style, too.

I'm sure the finished product will be terrific and a credit to your ever increasing artistic vision.

As for the move, all the best with it and be safe. :)

Thank you!  I've been doing the R.I.C.E. treatment that I remembered from being an EMT, but I never would have know about the alphabets.  I appreciate the online medical advice--I'm totally tapped out of money from the move and don't have the $100 it cost WITH my insurance to go to the emergency room.

Pick up an aircast if you don't know the correct way to wrap the ankle... and crutches... rent. Stay off it!!!

Not to be selfish ( ;) ) but, by staying off it you have a bit more time to skin.

If you need a Dr's note, just make a screenie. :)

You should have no weight bearing until all the swelling is gone. and if your tummy can take it - Naprosyn or ibuprofen. DO NOT MIX Them.

Hi,

I hope you are enjoying the heat. A church sign in Tulsa read: "Satan called. He wants his weather back".

Today my home weather station in Muskogee showed a high of 111F. KJRH weather forcasts 115F for tomorrow with another 2 weeks of this heat to go. Just 6 months ago we were digging out from under 2 back-to-back snow storms. In May we had several major and minor tornadoes.

Welcome to Oklahoma!

Glad to hear you made it there safely, Karen! Sucks about the ankle 'tho.... :|

I'm glad to hear that you made it one piece. Now you have a decent excuse to put your feet up; what the heck, you're there.

Congrats on making it there in one piece. Figures you'd wait till after the move to twist something up. Just kidding. Speedy recovery to you Karen. As for the WB...when you can.
