DeskScapes 3 Trial Icon on desktop

I tried the DeskScapes 3 trial. Then uninstalled it. Now I still have the "DeskScapes 3 Trial" on lower right corner on my desktop.

 

I would like to remove this. I have restarted PC a few times sense. Also changed themes and wallpaper. But it is still there.

 

Makes me wonder what else stays on my PC after the uninstall.

 

Anybody know how to get rid on this? Thanks.

The text is drawn only when DeskScapes is enabled and running one of its dreams.  Changing the wallpaper via any other method would have disabled DeskScapes automatically even if you had not uninstalled it.

An easy way to check if it has been uninstalled is to look in the c:\program files\stardock\object desktop\deskscapes folder.  If there are two dlls deskscape.dll and deskscapes.dll then the uninstallation was not successful.  If they are not there (remembering to check program files (x86) if you use a 64 bit OS) then Deskscapes is not running and will not be drawing any text.

Additionally if you had not uninstalled the software you would expect to see the trial nag screens on reboot.

Note that the wallpaper after uninstallation may be a static snapshot of the last dream you were running in which case that image would have DeskScapes 3 trial written on it.

Thanks for the reply.

I solved the problem.  The "text" evidently was saved to my saved theme. So, when I changed themes, it would go away and when I went back to my saved theme, it was there. I deleted my saved theme, then created it again. This time the trial text was gone.

 

Dream scape is pretty cool, I almost bought it. But $20. is a little high. $10. might have closed the deal.
