Strike Craft as Siege Bombers

Can siege bombing be given to strike craft other than through an ability or making them frigates?

What do you mean siege bombing? Like attacking frigate/cruisers/capitals?

Making fighters bomb planets is impossible iirc.

Yeah--the bombing planets. Another one of those "almost but not quite features". Back to the ability approach.

Almost there? There is absolutely nothing in their entity files that suggests they are capable of this, and it certainly isn't in game. ;)

Meaning, "they almost could have added it"...and I know it isn't in the game.
