Rebellion Release Date -- Choosing a Strategic Time

Yesterday I wondered to myself, "When would be the most strategic time to release Rebellion?  I'm guessing that it would be similar to when the original Sins was released, which was after the Christmas big-name title release rush and during a lull in releases (which was Feb or March 2008).  I hope the devs will take this into consideration and release it at a strategic time so that Rebellion can receive the attention a Sins-2 deserves.

I doubt it since last month one of the Devs said that more information was coming out next month wich is this month. So from that I'm guessing there not planning it's going to be a long time before the beta

February 22nd and please include a diecast model of a Kol Battleship for a Collector's Edition.

I could see a complete Sins package with Rebellion included like they did Trinity on shelves later, but not so sure about Rebellion by itself.  However, it was priced at $30 so there is the possibility.

As for when it will be released period, I'd expect sometime in winter 2011/12 and the beta this fall if we are lucky.

Rebellion will be a stand-alone package that includes all of the previous content, so it doesn't really need to include Trinity.  The only reason they might want to include Trinity would be if you can't load up the earlier three versions of the game if you purchased Rebellion without having previously owned Diplomacy.

I seriously hope the fact that this is the first standalone expansion will not affect pricing... im willing to lop out 30 bucks tops for addons n such, but anything more is like im buying the previous games all over again. p-lease be normal expansion price! :'(

The price is $39.95 and $29.95 for those who own Trinity or Diplomacy (who order direct).

Are you implying that it will be possible to purchase it "indirectly"--that you guys have decided to make it available as a hard copy in stores?

I believe that they have said this previously...

They should release a beta for rebellion to avoid another major illum bug alternative.

They've said they will, but the Illum bug went undiagnosed for over two years...

I would expect some engine tweaks.  There have been engine tweaks for almost every expo.  I'm just happy the franchise is not abandoned.  I was a bit worried when they were hiring people for a new title.

So... Rebellion incorporates Entrenchment and Diplomacy? Ie: Once I have Rebellion rockin' the hard drive I can free up some space by uninstalling the collection of games previously known as Trinity?

It will almost certainly install over them, just like the others. Just that if you only had bought Rebellion, you'd get them all.
