Upgrading Tutorials
Forget everything you know
Tutorials need a big overhaul for Rebellion. It needs to show info on pirate mechanics, refineries, and the Entrenchment and Diplomacy features.
What would you have the tutorials do?

Agreed, tutorials have been lacking, especially since Entrenchment and further compounded in Diplomacy.
I think it would be awesome to have a balance tutorial, in which you can see equal supplies of various ships going at it and seeing who wins.
...
Tutorials are for new players to introduce all the relevant game mechanics. If you want "balance" trials, go load up dev.exe ![]()
naysayer.
its really important, definatly a game mechanic, and would be easy to do.
No tutorials, i want plenty of noobs to destroy on the new multiplayer service ![]()

So they can rage quit and never come back again?
even if they know how to play they will get stomped by DT, this will just save them some time.
I thought that the tutorial from the original Vanilla Sins did a fine job of introducing people to the basic game mechanics. It could use some polishing, but I think it gets the job done. No tutorial is going to be a substitute for learning-through-playing.
There needs to be a turorials on the rock papar scissor mechanics of sins.
Teach players what counters what.
For example: Light frigates counter both flak and carriers. Long Range Frigates counter Light frigate. Flak counters Long Range Frigates and Fighters...etc...etc....
That might be the problem with this idea, if you start spouting this sort of thing at first time playes, they'll think "too complicated" and ignore the tutorial.
Some more about static defenses would be nice (give them a chance to use last resort at least once even if they play Advent and Vasari for the rest of their live
).
