marina and the diamonds

so, has anyone heard of them??

I discovered them tonight when i was watching a youtube tut on how to straighten your fringe...(i just cut mine tonight, ala claudette colbert style)

and suddenly this song came on, and i was like...wtf? what is this song, and who is that singing???

turned out to be marina and the diamonds, and the song Shampain.

well, im now hooked, love them,

her voice is insane, i love it, so strong.......

all i can say is wow.

I havent felt this way since i discovered Barry Adamson over 10 years ago....

dam i love it when i discover new artists!!!

It's not my kind of music, but her voice is as beautiful as she is (is it correct english, i don't know *_* )

yeah isnt she?? i think she looks like a mix between audrey tautou and catherine zeta,

and acoustic, she really proves she can sing, and she dosent take her clothes off, i love that.

Marina is MUCH better than Gaga (I can't stand Gaga- her music is nonsensical). My wife thinks Marina should be a lipstick model, too. Says she has a perfect mouth. I couldn't agree more lol...... Have you watched the video for I Am Not a Robot?

I also recommend Mazzy Star and Cowboy Junkies. Mazzy has a lovely voice, and Margo from Cowboy Junkies has such a soulful voice (look for their cover of Lou Reed/Velvet Underground's 'Sweet Jane'.....

yeah, i like the song i am not a robot, but i dont like the video much .....i dont like it when people hide their beauty ...

Not at all impressed with Gaga, and I'm not opposed to skimpy outfits, either, but Marina is by far the better singer and most certainly more talented.  Gaga is just a gimmick for her record company.... and when they tire of her she will be just another easily forgotten has-been.
