Seems like that would only lead to a discussion about whether or not the neutral independent source was actually neutral and independent. (And I personally do believe that frequently they are not.) Seriously, a person can go insane wondering about all the facts.

I mentioned about 4 pages ago that it is simple political suicide for anyone to be having a lend of the truth about his demise.

If the Prez has stated Bin Laden is dead then you can take it as GOSPEL.

If it were NOT the case his [Obama] career would end the instant it was proven to be false.... and the US would forever be the target of ridicule of the rest of the planet... and probably for the rest of time.

Not at all k10w3 - Try to think as they do. From the mid 1840's when oil was first discovered the UK was the first to establish colonies in the region albeit for tea. India. Algeria became a colony too. France. Italy took Libya during WWII. Their history is replete with occupation from the western world and leaders were put in place by those western countries. Hussein in Iraq by the US. The Shah of Iran by the US. Syria's Autocrat. Egypt's Mubarek. These guys liked US money so much they did whatever Uncle Sam told them to do and when they were no longer of any use they get rid of them or made it possible. Notice how the US was reluctant to get involved in Libya until France started kicking ass and the Libyan people asked for US intervention. Kuwait, Bahrain, The Arab Emirates. All US allies propped up in the beginning by US money. You see propaganda. I see history.

Uvah, our OWN country (the US) is an example of occupation -- I'm pretty sure if you ask any Native Americans, they will tell you it would be nice if the occupiers would get out of their country.  This is how the world works now -- it's global.  You either adapt or die.  Both of us know there are a lot of people who wouldn't mind turning the middle east into a parking lot.  I don't need to "think like they do" -- they need to start thinking like we do; I've already had to adapt to their presence in my world (I took an airplane from Florida to Wisconsin -- the fact that "they" are in my world is pretty obvious with all the check-in security I had to go through).

Look, nobody would love to pull all "our" stuff back into our country and put a big fence around it more than me.  However, every time I have this debate with people they tell me "that's being protectionist" and they will tell me how that's not going to work.  We can't go back to the days of countries and regions--it's like putting tooth paste back into the tube.  We live in a global world and the Arab world knows this--they are the last holding out to having their cake and eating it too.  They need to friggin' adapt.  They have our toys, they have cell phones and internet and automobiles--it's not like they're ALL living isolated in the desert.  They need to make the next step -- quit demanding we show sensitivity to their culture without them showing a little sensitivity to ours.

Why is it that it's okay for them to bring in explosives and destroy our people, take out our icons, but when some yahoo preacher in Florida threatens to burn a Q'uran the entire Muslim world is ready to wipe our whole country out?  Why must they blow these things out of proportion.  Wouldn't it be much more of an even justice for them to just buy a Bible and burn it?

im sick to death of the arabs, they are nothing but arrogant, hateful, and a voilent race.

They are jealous of the western nations because we are 'blessed countries" (food ect prosperity...ect)

When they come to your country (illegally) they demand mosques be built, everything has to be allah (meat slaughtering ect) and berka's are everywhere.

Ive just had enough of them.

How is that racist? She's entitled to express her feelings based on her experiences and I don't see anything about what she said as racist.

posting before thinking is never a good thing, always pays to keep an open mind & leave preconceptions where it belongs, intolerence for other cultures is a recipe for extremism, don't fall for it  "minds open" *winks*

Ya me too.  I just meant that sitting around churning this stuff can make a person nuts and sometimes it's better to just go do something (which is exactly what I did)   :smitten:

I do agree with that. Every country has extremist and some are as much in your face as Al-Qaeda. We simply tolerate them because they are not blowing up buildings. Take for example the kkk or the mafia or even the hells angels for that matter. Are these groups not extremist who ruin our countries with organised crime which includes drugs and murder?

Racism involves the belief in racial differences, which acts as a justification for non-equal treatment (which some regard as "discrimination") of members of that race. The term is commonly used negatively and is usually associated with race-based prejudice, violence, dislike, discrimination, or oppression,

that is stating that the hole race. which makes it a racist statement.. which is not called for and WC should have taken it down!!

I believe one popular theory is that the traits that we dislike reside in all of us.

It takes a special and unique person to understand that and to keep them in check and not allow them to see the light of day.

I could be mistaken and this is not a theory but just my own opinion.

This would though explain why so many people in the world are easily manipulated.  :S

I was going to rant and rave here, but I will make it simple. To Vampy and all others who feel like her, people from Arab countries are not arrogant, hateful or violent, deep down the whole damn human race is!

You will find bad people in every culture and/or religion. What we all have to do is ignore them completely (unless they become radical and violent like OBL or course).

As an American who served 22 years in the military, I know the United States of America has a lot in its past to be ashamed or not proud of, as do most nations of the world. There is not one single human being on this planet that is better than the next, period. The day we learn to accept that, and people as they are (culture, religion, whatever...), is a day I truly hope to see in my lifetime, but it will probably never happen.  :S

Learn to live with and accept one another, please let the sickness die....

So many times in my life a first impression (the way someone looks, acts, speaks or thinks) has been proven wrong after I actually got to KNOW that person. If I’d relied on those first impressions, I’d have missed out on some really good acquaintances and friendships. I also think maturity and life experience go a long way toward learning tolerance for others. And yes, truly bad, radical and violent people should be ignored if possible or dealt with accordingly if that's simply not an option. :|

LightStar.....you said it better than I ever could. Fundamentalism exists everywhere. Radicalism exists everywhere. 'isms' exist everywhere. The reason they do, the reason there is so much prejudice and dislike of others because they are different is this. The human race simply isn't mature enough to understand or accept others as equals. There has been some progress but obviously not enough. Ask yourself this question. Why is there no peace in the world? The answer is a simple one. If the powers that be actually 'wanted' peace we would have had it already. Peace does not fatten your wallet, confrontation does. IMHO

No need to apologize Vamps. In all the excitement over this its bound to happen. People, no matter who they are, will speak with their feelings of the moment. I believe everyone knew what you meant to say.
