So who has been keeping up with this?

As some of you know, the concept for the family tree in War of Magic was inspired by this series. Great series of books.

 Nah, I'm happy to wait for the next season to air...and the next and the next and so on.  I would rather read the books after the series completes, so as not to ruin what is to come, though that would be via an ebook device as I find that easier to read than the printed word on paper.

He's only been working on the series since he published the first book 18 years ago in 1996.

There is a good chance the TV show will spoil things that haven't been written yet in the books if George continues his snail's pace of writing.

That's a chance I will have to take.  At this point in time the TV series holds my greater interest and I do not read a great deal anyhow.  I've recently only begun reading using my tablet and an ebook software, and it would take me quite a while to get into the A Song of Fire and Ice series because I'm currently reading Grimm's Fairytales [one of the great classics] and generally only read an hour or so before going to sleep.
