Better engine/dx11 for rebellion?

long shot?

Sins would slow to a crawl sometimes during huge games, so I'm wondering whats the details/revisions for rebellion?

Main thing I'm wondering is 2+ threads and dx11 support. I'm sure the graphics card in sins is underused, my 570 sure is xD

No. Repeatedly stated as not happening.

The engine isn't being changed any time soon, and it definitely isn't going to happen for anything less than a full-fledged sequel, which Rebellion isn't.

Well I'm pretty sure if there is enough people wanting it, the dev would listen...but it seems people here feel like this game is a fairy tale... Its 2011, having dx11 and a better engine isn't a dream... I don't see why a problem with the function of the game shouldn't get fixed. Sins was meant to have 5v5, now I don't have a SB processor, but it even lags on my i7 because of poor optimization.

Making a game is business and from what I see of the responses, it really isn't going to happen because the devs have no incentives at all to do it when its a forgone conclusion by their customers anyways.

Yeah. Go tell that to all the people wanting a new X-Wing game.

Its 2011

Except the game was made back in 08 by an indie (poorly funded) company.
They did great with what resources they had.

No its not. What it is is a lot of work for a game that is a bit old. More work than is reasonable.

Not only that, they started it in '04.

I am certainly wrong but i remember that sins have take 1 year for be done, with a 1 million $ budget... so, it will make the start in 2007...

Perhaps if they make a Sin of a Solar Empire 2 they can make it DX11 capable. But I think for now it is what it is.

Dx11 wasn't my main point, so I concede that it isn't needed, its just a nice feature.

However a improved engine is needed. The current game is barley playable due to its threading limitations. Given the scale, something should be improved engine wise

What do you think they tried to do with 1.2. Anything more will require too much time and cost. This is a small company. Not Blizzard/Valve/EA company.

Hopefully with the success (and there has been a lot with this franchise so far) that Sins brings, Sins 2 will be a lot more playable.

I guess you haven't heard that there will not be a "Sins 2?" Even if there is, I'm not getting my hopes up. Stardock won't put forth the effort. Plain and simple. End of discussion.

No I haven't. Please give me a link up.

I'll see if I can find it for you. It's not official, though. It's just one Stardock guy saying Rebellion would be the last Sins game.

Well it was also said before that there would be released 3 micro expansions and then they've decided to just release 2 and make now a full expansion. And I think I also remember reading something in those lines that there would possibly be a campaign but now that I've been reading the forums I doubt it. A person can dream though. :S

One thing that I'm really curious was the sudden stop of feedback from IC and then recently they started updating again with the betas and the most recent update. I hope they've been planning something huge for rebellion.

Ironclad has been pretty busy with their not-Sins project.

I have never heard anyone from Ironclad even suggest that their would be a campaign in this generation of Sins at least, and I've been frequenting this forum before the expansions. So yes, I think this your dreams talking. :P

The closest I have ever heard is that they also like the idea but they feel that because of the way Sins was built it wouldn't work very well. So they just refuse.
