Noob with no mods wants to Roleplay.

Hey guys Im new to Sins and i've never played a multiplayer game  on it but i've roleplayed on other Strategy games. I was wondering if anyone wanted to play a RP game with me. Preferably need atleast 4 players. It seems like a good game to RP on with the diffrent races and the size of the games. I don't have any mods because ive never realy known how to install them. Anyway i would love to play with any RP players which are willing to live with a newbie for some games and if you give me instructions to install the mod you have that would be great to. Thanks guys :grin:

Have you considered playing an actual RPG game?  Ever tried the original Neverwinter Nights online at a persistent universe server (Amia, Arelith, or Higher Ground)?  That might be more along the lines of what you're looking for.  Sins is a great game, but it just doesn't have much to offer in the RPG department.

How exactly do you role play a strategy game like Sins? I'm curious what you do online to facilitate this.

BTW, hi combatelite!

Sure they can, but why do it on Sins when far superior RPG options are available?  I didn't mean to be an ass with my posting back there.  I just wanted to point out that a better RPG option does exist where some people really get into it (Neverwinter Nights at Amia and Arelith).

Maybe you guys will be in luck if Rebellion revitalizes Sins.  Maybe someone will make a Sins RPG mod and a Sins RPG community will spring up.

What, like where you play a ship captain and captains level up like they did in MOO2? Hah! I'd play it.

The DS crew does it all the time. Sins has a lot to offer in the RPG department. Anything does as long as you have a strong enough imagination.

How does it work?  People create backstories for their races and then try to stay in character?  Does it just become a big chat session (like Dungeons and Dragons characters sitting on benches at the town square chatting) or do people actually play the RTS element of it?  (All this talk about RPG-ing tempts me to get back into Neverwinter Nights.)

<Quote changed itself, I'll fix that soon>

I was thinking bringing part of my Halo CE RP clan to sins of a solar empire (Since some of us actualy like the game) so that'll help spring up the RP community on Sins

Basicly that is how it sorta works ;) Oh and also, there is still a RTS element to it, Im forced to use stratagy (and a bit of some random fun) againts Astro when I do it with him. At the end he always kicks my ass :(

Why did you resurrect a thread that's been dead for 6 months? You would have been better off simply PMing them this.  Even then, you have no guarantee that they're still involved in with the community.
