Still can not start game 1.19

from Elemental Forums

Hi folks,

 

I have the problems like others here with starting the game since updating to 1.19 Beta.

I have tried such workarounds like starting the game directly (not by the launcher) and even uninstalled the game

and re-installed it using another path.

Nevertheless, the game will not start stating it can not donload a file.

 

Can anyone help me with this issue please ?

1.119 is a beta, I think the Beta releases need to download small data files from the stardock server every time you run them. Could it be your anti-virus is blocking this 1.11 was a full release version so wouldn't have needed to do that.

Hello and thanks,

 

I have a router and the XP firewall. I have added elementals exe and impulse exe to the firewall and still it will not work. Is there any way to uninstall the game and re-install 1.11 only ?

Ha, ha found out by myself,

 

I had my impulse preferences set to "show pre release" so the re-install automatically installed the Beta.

Cool, was going to point that out to you. Really interested to know what was blocking it from running though sounds like you already tried firewall.

Or you can just press "escape" when the text box pops up telling you it can't download stuff.

 

Seriously, that worked for me, playing beta now.
