How to change skin's window background color?

Hi!

Occasionally I will load a blind that colors the window background color to the point where I can't read text.  It's usually a problem for me in FireFox, note pad, and Outlook.  I've searched in SkinStudio 7 to try to change it, but am baffled.

My usual response is just to delete the skin and use something else.  However, I have ObjectDesktop and know that it should be simple to adjust the skin to my liking.

Could someone please help a complete skinning newbie?

Thank you!

See Reply #1 here to change system colors within WB Config, I think that will get it.  You won't want to change "Button Face" though, but one of the others like "AppWorkspace" or "Background".

In SKS.....

You can drop a small image in the Explorer Backgrounds > Active and Inactive window areas to change Explorer background colors (tiled). And then there's the Change skin colors and changing the system defined colors how you want them. Also, Edit Vista / 7 Explorer Parts > Folder Bars > Extra Settings > Background Colour (Win 7) It's according to what you're trying to do but those are a few examples. Keep in mind, some apps are independent of explorer colors though and have to be changed through their options settings if then possible. In a "perfect" world, there would be a standard across the board for everything but unfortunately, well.... <_<

OR, from SKS click on "change skin colors". click on the combo box and select edit system colors. 1st row, window background color is in the top row.

I'm trying to color the left background behind the folder tree of windows explorer in windows 7 but i can't get it working. I have a graphic in my wb skin for folder bar and i have a graphic for active and inactive explorer background but the left part stays white no matter what i do.

Whoever created the Ministry skin did it perfectly but i can't get it working at all.

I'm trying to mimic a Mac OS X look and i have it almost 100% i just need to change that left section to blue and it wont' work :(

Can anyone help????
